Hey guys
So I'm looking for some manga with psychological and mystery involved in it. I would love it if it has some dark aura around it. Like characters with sad pasts and stuff. Or attempted suicides. Other preferences, I'd like the main character to be a guy and not a girl, serious plot and not silly ones even if it does have those themes. And I'd like another character to care for our main character and just support him emotionally and physically, doesn't have to be in a romantic way either. Something like Ilegenes - Kokuyou no Kiseki would be perfect. I just finished the current chapters that are out and now I want more xD

Thanks in advance smile

Try Conductor by Kaminaga Manabu. The manga is completed with only 4 vols and it's still being translated but I find it really good. The main characters are more than one and the plot itself is done like a puzzle - everyone is connected to each other, one way or another and the reader gradually finds out how. I've read only a few mystery mangas but I think this one is really catchy and worth reading.

Shindere Shoujo to Kodoku na Shinigami - Well dont expect too much. The psychological side isnt really strong nor disturbing. It doesnt have psychological tag but it does (but like I said not much) an psychological aspect. I still like it though.

how about Judge (TONOGAI Yoshiki)? it makes you reconsider the morals of society.

12 Nin no Yasashii Koroshiya - Leo Murder Case & Toxic, heavy - Toxic takes place in a miltary-based theme though, which in a way is similar to Ilegenes, both of them have a male side character who cares deeply for the male lead
Switch & Dolls, good storyline - beautiful art, and they do have a side character (male) who cares for the main
Natsume Yuujinchou, somewhat popular so I'm not sure if you've read it or not - and more so than how Ilegenes was, it lacks a dark atmosphere and has more of a refreshing one. Mystery? There's hints of it, but overall it's not really 'big.'
X/1999, it's old, but the art is really wonderful imo (CLAMP has a tremendously unique style) ... It does evolve into something more beautiful, ah, but it's left incomplete for the meanwhile, and there's a lot of losses in here (lives)... (somewhat lacks the mystery aside from each character's past and etc)
Are You Alice?
Pandora Hearts, popular series (you may have read it already), but the plot is a complete and utter mindscrew at times
Zetsuen no Tempest, somewhat popular (it has its own anime now...)

Uh, despite how it lacks the tag, I would also say try Gohou Drug and Drug & Drop

I'm sorry I don't have more, :c...

First off, thanks a lot I love your descriptions xD
I've watched Pandora Hearts and Zetsuen no Tempest but never actually read them. Pandora Hearts wasn't really my style, but I absolutely love Zetsuen no Tempest. It's amazing. The mystery and omg, the twists O.o
Anyways, thanks. I'll look through your other ones too. eyes

You might also like these:

Akusaga
- Dark pasts, criminal, mystery surrounding past, lost me,memories.

ES
- Esp,powers, dark element, dark ambience.

X-kai
- Assassination, sad past.

Kokoro Rental

- Horror one shot.

If you don't mind novels Hakomari is the story for you.
If you like Zetsuen no Tempest, all other works by Shirodaira Kyou are quite similar, so you should try Spiral and Vampire Juujikai too. They both have pretty much all you asked, even if I don't consider them particularly dark (more or less the same of Zetsuen no Tempest). Since you're watching the anime, I suppose you are also aware by Psycho-Pass and Shin Sekai Yori anime, right?

Manga suggestions:
Monster and Pluto
Shiki
Iris Zero

You could be describing the Count Cain / God Child series. Male hero, mysteries, dark ambiance, twisted past, stalwart companion. Sorry if you've read it, I didn't see it on your lists.

Another... if you don't know already...
MPD Psycho a little bit cruel and sometimes tagged with 'horror'
[m]Higurashi no Naku Kuro ni[/m]
Mirai Nikki Sort ofconfused Girl is a psycho and the plot sort of unravels near the end... I won't say too much just in case you want to read/watch it.
Zetsuen no Tempest Not so much psychological TBH...
Yuureitouconfusedconfused
샴 BY: Hun, I wish I could find a scanlated version of it, but I couldn't... it's one of the best psychological mangas ever. It is available in Chinese and Korean as far as I know... if you want the Chinese name, it is : 兄弟连体. It is about twins sharing the same body (Multiple personality disorder)
I swear I know more... ahhh... I'll add more when I remember

Akumetsu
Homunculus Probably, my favorite psychological manga.
Ore to Akuma no Blues
Shi ni Itaru YamaiShort, but good.
Kurosagi
Usogui
Battle Royale Quite gore...
NHK ni Youkoso! Not really psychological...but, oh well.

Mirai Nikki I don't actually like this manga, but there are shit ton of people that do.

Alrighty thanks again!!!!! biggrin

I've watched Mirai Nikki, Another and like I mentioned before Zetsuen no Tempest. I actually both watched and read Mirai Nikki, watched it first, loved it, read the manga XD
Another was mehh, ok. It wasn't great. It had a really slow pacing which was actually getting me bored but still it had its climax.
Ohh right, I've also watched Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Gave me the goose bumps. I only watched it for the gore, being honest the plot was horrible, it made absolutely no sense.

But again, thanks biggrin
