Can you cook? II
The first Can you cook? got off topic, and was locked. With lambchopsil blessing ... It was more I asked if I could remake this thread, and he said sure ... So I guess not so much a blessing >.> I digress. Seeing how I couldn't find another remake. Here we are Can you cook ? II.
I changed ' I'm alright at it ' to ' I know enough to get by ' , and added ' Does a sandwich count? '

I can cook a bit. I'm no gourmet chef, but it's enough to work off of.

I know how to cook some simple dishes but time is usually an issue... By that I mean I'm usually too lazy/hungry to do anything except make fried rice. At worst, it's leftover takeout or ramen with some meat and veggie mixed in, though the ramen is pretty delicious with bok choy, BBQ pork and an egg, even if it's not very healthy.

I don't know why some people say they can't cook. It's just a matter of finding a good recipe and sticking to it. Of course, unless you want to make a super complicated dish that requires a lot of skill.
So I think that yes, I can cook and I'm okay at cooking. I make meals for myself, since I live alone and I can't afford to eat out.(I'm lazy, so usually I just make rice or pasta with some sauce, not very challenging) When I'm home I cook some more complicated dishes for my family, no complaints yet.
But what I really like is baking. I started several years ago, doing very easy cakes and then moved on to more difficult ones. I think I'm quite skilled by now. Recently I bought a candy thermometer and I'm experimenting with candy making.

I can, but I don't enjoy it. So I'm lazy with my cooking and do easy things like scrambled eggs or frying bacon, or pasta with sauce etc.
If I had to sit there and make a proper meal though, especially with a recipe, I think I'd be fine and it would taste ok too. I just can't be asked. I always make the mistake of cooking when I'm hungry, so I want food there and then. The less time it takes, the better XD

Well i think i can cook, but I'm not an expert. I do agree with Hanae, i think anyone can cook if you stick to the recipe and have patience.....It also depends on the recipe.
I like to cook, but i don't normally have a lot of time to cook, so i do something fast. I would love to have more time to try doing more complicated recipes though....

Yes, though I only have a short list of things I can make. And I don't have a special dish that everybody loves.
But I can cook.

I know enough to get by....
but i haven't cook anything big, as in things that for me needs many ingredients and processes, for more than half a year now due to some circumstances.

If I'm on a boat, and I'm hungry and everyone is too tired/lazy to do anything worthwhile I can cook pasta with sauce... well ... that'd be it. I somehow managed to cook for 10 people (for two meals at the same time) when there were pretty high waves without throwing everything all over myslef..
I recently managed to fail boiling water in a kettle. The handle melted and the water started leaking out from it... So I'd be the one to contradict this statement. Even if I really try I can't make something more complicated than pasta with tomato sauce...
So I'd pick "does a sandwich count?"

I defiantly can't cook!!! I get really panicky and paranoid when I'm put in charge of anything to do with cooking. I literally get scared when waters boiling! Though I have got a lot better over the years. But I still can't cook and I don't like doing it! (plus I'm a really picky with food)

If you asked me 3 months ago, I would probably answer that I could only cook a few simple dishes like eggs.
But recently me, my brothers and my cousins have started hosting monthly grill nights together for family bonding and hanging out. Everything's slow and self-taught, looking up recipes on the net, but it's fun and we're slowly learning more complicated dishes.

Too lazy.
I don't bother myself with complicated dishes, but instead have a few specialities, like frying and grilling.
I also make great smoothies. The other problem is that I often get "full" from the act of cooking itself, and don't have much of an appetite after the dish is done.
I love good food though, that is why I need a waifu.

I can boil water... Does that count?
Oh, but there was that one time I ruined my pot doing that.. ._.''
P.S. Despite how you may read this, everything I said here is true.

Considering that I'm currently living by myself, and I have been for the last two years or so (such is the life of a university student), I can say that I have developed some pretty dependable skills in the kitchen. I generally browse for recipes online, and just follow them (sometimes modifying recipes to suit what I have - and my laziness *cough* - which may or may not turn out well, haha)
Thing is, the food doesn't look very appetizing most of the time, even though it may taste pretty good. I don't really care about presentation myself, since it's all going into my stomach anyway, but I know some people do.
PS - Just a comment on the poll, I feel that there's a huge gap between "I know enough to get by" and "they could base a manga off my cooking skills". There could be a few more options added, if you ever decide to revamp this thread. Stuff like "my friends love the food that I make" or "I enjoy trying out new recipes".
