i think that i have been unlucky with the shoujo manga's i have looked at,,, every time i see a pointy face on a boy, i mean like the ones in vampire knight and such , i feel like puking, the only differences in the characters is hight and the hair which goes from long to longer. they mostly look like tall flat chested women. and i dont see any variations in the stories either.. so im a guy that has given up on shojuo.. its the devils work

If you consider shoujo to be the devil's work then what do you think of yaoi?

I just started getting into Shoujo. I started Haou Airen and I really like that. I'm also planning on reading Vampire Knight, Desire Climax,[m] Midnight Secretary[/m] and Lucky Star.

I used to read a lot of shoujo for the longest time. But many ideas started repeating themselves over and over and over again. So basically I swore off of shoujo manga unless someone highly recommends it or the description piques my interest.
Besides, sometimes the art just creeps me out...

Yaoi, well i dont mind that,, if i see Yaoi in the description i know its not for me, and i dont find it disgusting at all, its just stupid, why turn away from the fairer sex to be violated by some hairy monkey its really beyond me

I am reading Vampire Knight, and it's really interesting. Instead of reading Lucky Star, I just watched the anime and found every moment funny especially when Konata brings up random topics to the group.

My brother is a huge fan of shounen and seinen, but ironically, it was him that got me into shoujo. ^^
At first I only read shounen & seinen. Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, School Rumble - those were the ones he loved, and the ones I got addicted to. Then I got into Chobits. I loved CCS, so I bought Chobits, unknown it was a seinen.
My brother at first was "AWW, YOU BOUGHT CHOBITS? TOO GIRLY" but when he read it, he found "the greatness of it". I love Chobits, and I didn't find out till I was in like, Volume 3+ that it was a seinen aka GUY MANGA. Sorry, I was really ignorant to the whole genre categorization thing. >_>
But then he showed me Ouran - and it was love at first sight. xD After watching the Ouran anime, I went off to buy the Ouran manga. If you ever stop at a book store, stop and grab an Ouran manga. Any volume, doesn't matter. Flip it over, and on the back it'll say "a must-have for Hana-Kimi fans".
So one day while I was in Buffalo shopping [it's expensive here in Canada for Canada] I stopped at a Borders. I went looking for Ouran volume 3, but it wasn't stock! =[
So I moved on to search for Death Note - not in stock. Fruits Basket - not in stock. 496539 other series I wanted - not in stock.
So I was all pissy. >[ And my mom was like "HURRY THE FUDGE UP" so I was "ohdamn" and just picked Hana-Kimi, since I got my eye on it. xD After reading the back cover of the first volume, I understood why it said "a must-have for Hana-Kimi fans" on Ouran - gender benders!
Thus began my love. I had also bought Chobits 4 along with HK 1. I was going to Florida, so I was planning to read those two mangas while on the plane. I read Chobits first, and wasn't really interested in HK. But when I finally read it, I got addicted. xD
When I arrived in Florida, the next morning [Sunday] I went to Barnes & Noble and bought volumes 2 and 3 of HK. XD
I wasn't a huge fan of reading scanlations because I know that if I read them, I get discouraged from buying the series. ^^; But I was SO addicted to HK. >_> So for the next 3 weeks, every time I had online access, I read HK. I was so sad when it ended. =[
From then I went on to read other gender benders, and then expanded my search to other shoujo. Basara I particularly enjoyed. ^^; Red River too <3
Then I moved on to dramas instead of comedies, and from my drama search, I slid into shounen & seinen, and then went to other shounen & seinen. ^^ Then I went into like, ecchi and slid into smut so I went back to shoujo [my current obsession - SMUT!]
So I did a circle, sort of. xD
However, up to this day, my manga collection is huge as hell on my computer, and I know if my computer dies before I get a chance to back-up all my manga, I will kill myself.
Shoujo takes up over 90% of my collection.
Yes, I love it that much. >__>
My brother refuses to read any shoujo though, so he sticks to Air Gear, Berserk, Negima, Ichigo 100% and all that popular shounen / seinen. xD
WELL THAT'S MY STORY :]
Overall, I find shoujo really amusing. ;D <3 Hana-Kimi is still my #1 series though <3
I want to kill someone whenever someone mentions that series.
Pity I'm gonna have to finish the series... and just after I vowed 3 days prior that I would never lay my eyes on it.
Satisfying ending, though, I must say

The little boy he raped Kurumi in front of shot him just as he was getting himself ready to marry Kurumi outside the church - I swear I've never laughed so hard in my life. xD
YAY FOR SUDDEN CHARACTER RE-APPEARANCES THAT MAKE A GOOD ENDING ^___^

Why didn't you like Haou Airen? I'm on volume 3. Does it get crappier later?

hmm. Don't want you to spoil it (like you did the ending) but I'll read it and report to you if it was worth reading. Have a fealing I'll end up liking the series more after volume 4. Dunno why, just have a feeling.

Only sick people will like that series after Volume 4 [if you even managed to get there]. Trust me.

I mostly read Shoujo mangas, if I want to see some massacre or similar I watch an anime or play a game. Alot more action that way.

For the record, Lucky Star isn't remotely shojo whatsoever. It's a seinen anime / manga cuz of it's slice of life plot and parodies on otaku culture, anime, and heavily references the Melancholy of Suzumyia Haruhi. This is a lot like Azumanga Diaoh which people also frequently mistake for shojo, which is not.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like a shoujo. One of my friends said it was shoujo, and since a demographic wasn't put on it, I just took his word for it.
