@cowsrawesome
thanks!! will definitely check it out
@BlackBlaze
thanks, change guy fits my criteria somewhat. But what I meant is i don't want martial arts manga in a historical setting (like middle ages etc, though Drifters was awesome) for this topic, it should be current, or near future/sci-fi borderline

All Rounder Meguru, Holyland are manga that set in this era, and very realistic. Both don't have super power/ magic thing.
Beelzebub: hilarious and crazy, it has supernatural elements.
Kure-nai
Tenjou Tenge: the story become so confusing halfway, it has ecchi and supernatural too.

others maybe worth looking at
Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru
Aiki
Grappler Baki (The first series of Baki isn't scanlated but there is an anime for the parts missing)
Tough
Shamo
Riki-Oh
Shura no Mon
Teppuu

If you don't mind comedy you could also check :
Aiki : great start, but becomes boring after a while, you might like it tho
Tatakae! Ryouzanpaku Shijou Saikyou no Deshi and Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi : you probably already know them, if not they're worth a read but the 2d one is just too long and lost its fun for me
Hakaiou Noritaka! : Very fun manga about muay thai
Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru : Comedy and Karate
Now some more serious reads :
Shamo : Very dark, violent manga. Main character's personality takes a turn for the worse after a while tho, still worth a check
Sun-ken Rock : Street fights, gangs, violence. Decent Manhwa if you like the genre.
Ultra Red : For once a complete martial arts manga (although the ending was a bit disappointing for me).
Grappler Baki : A very successful manga in Japan, about a boy trying to become stronger than his monster of father. While the fights are based on real martial arts, don't expect something very realistic.
If you like boxing try Hajime no Ippo : Long time favorite of mine, great humor, great fights, very nice characters. I was very disappointed in one of the later fights (vs the monkey guy) and dropped it but definitely check this one.
I'll second Holyland, the only manga in the genre that I still read regularly although the protagonist can be annoying sometimes. But the realism is a nice change.

Zippy Ziggy Not so sure though but is definitely in a modern setting.
Samurai High School Might not fit but is definitely set in the future.
Nabari no Ou I never really watched/read it but it should fit.
Well, I don't read much martial arts manga.

Girls of the Wild's - Great, however the setting is Martial Art's but the main charater doesn't pratice it himself.
