Overdosing on one particular manga until your head is so full of the imagery of that world that you don't know what's going on anymore is one of the great pleasures of having this much time on our hands...
I agree with the person who said Berserk (but only once you get to volume 4 or so). Although reading it all at once really fucks your head up with regards to imagining eyes in the shadows every time you see a tree or a leaf or steak or anything remotely organic looking. 😀
The stories where you know nothing good is going to happen, and some evil genius mangaka is going to rape your eyes and twist all the censored fairy tales you ever read when you were a kid, the moment you turn the page, but still have to keep on reading... those are the best.. I mean why else would people keep reading them?
Vinland Saga. every chapter of that makes me want to go into the future and read to the end of the story without sleeping for as long as it takes.
Recent Blade of the Immortal chapters (the ones that have just been scanlated since everyone gave up on the idiots releasing the american comics being finished any time soon) have been having that effect on me too..
Fullmetal Alchemist, because you just know it's perfectly planned to be one of the rare stories with a good ending.
And weird horror stuff like The Drifting Classroom, just to find out what the hell's going on 🙂 I read Blame all in one go also, in a dark room on a laptop screen. Just kept on compulsively downloading more chapters. the internet is a wonderful thing. Then had dreams involving lots of climbing where everything was rendered in pen and ink for weeks afterwards...
I did the same with Japan Tengu Party Illustrated. Now that is an underrated manga.

I don't like to rate anything until the very end, and I did rate a few in the normal list... just because I LOVE those 🤣

Oh man, i get the feeling this will be abit of a hefty list >_> . But here it is:
Top recomendations (the ones that really have/had me turning those pages and hurting when i reched the end of the volumes):
- Berserk (it's Berserk, i need not say more)
- Vagabond (Deep, realistic, and the chacters really grow and learn as the series goes on)
- One Piece (makes me feel like a kid wanting to break away from this reality and go out on an big adventure)
- Fire Fighter!: Daigo of Fire Company M (you might not think a manga on fire fighting would be that good, but trust me, its damn good)
- Buddha (man was it deep, once you get past the first volume, things just get better and better with a verity of difernt chaters with they're intresting deep storys)
- Battle Royale (god damn its one hell of a page turner)
- Red River (dont let the art put you off as its actually a rather mature and really good shoujo series)
- Tail of the Moon (it starts like alot of tipical shoujo manga, what with it having a nanja seting...but no real ninja action, just goofing off and romance, but around volume 5 and up or so its actually starts to become a real ninja manga, with missions and some damn good cliff hangers. of course it still keeps its romace, but it doesnt keep the whole ninja bit in the back round anymore later on is all)
- Gantz (for one, it doesnt take long to read a volume or most of all a chapter of it, and its like battle royale with how you have to keep reading to see who lives, who dies and just some crazy shit)
- The Drifting Classroom (it too is a survile manga aswell, except its 20 to 30 years old and is pure awesome! anybody who love old school manga, let alone horror manga, has to read this series. Its a mixture between being serious and being abit silly, that and just really crazy...like pretty damn crazy 🙂 )
- Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto (Naoki Urasawa, nuff said)
- Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (I have to say...I feel abit ashamed that i love this series, because i hate the kind of music that they play, and making stuff out like this Dying Breed band to be the best thing ever...haha, but yet the chacters are alot of fun and so is the story, its a good thing that i dont have to actually listen to the music being played in song in it >_> )
-Nodame Cantabile (god damn do i love this series. it has a great cast of charcters in it, its funny as hell if you ask me, the art and everything in it is tasteful, as even tough Nodame can be really great at playing the piano, shes still not perfect at it and so on, so the series doesnt suffer from what shounen series and the like do with having the chacter being being percet at what ever it is that they do, so can really play the piano well and is gifted, but theres still much that she need to improve at, and i think its serious that dont go down the shallow raod of over talented main chacters and does it right like this that really deserves respect for it) - Kimi wa Pet (anouther jousei series that i really loved. For one, its mature, the main female charcter is a strong minded woman, and the male charcter Momo is a very well made charcter that is funny, imature and also mature and such when he needs to be. Hes actually one of my altime top favorite chacrters in a shoujo/josei manga)
- Dragon Head (anouther dark survivle manga that has you turning the pages wonder what happaned to the world and how it will all end)
- Fullmetal Alchemist (i could go into how much i love this series and all the other great things about it, but im not, just read it because its amazing and just alround damn great)
- Hunter x Hunter (try not to let its art put you off, as its a mixture of not good/great and actualy some rather nice detailed art every now and then. And i found my self actually growning used to and liking the art as i read on, this series just shows that you dont have to draw a flasy well drawn manga series for it to actually be great. Also the series doesnt start to get really good till volume 7 i would say, when nen starts coming into play)
- King of Thorn (you just cant help but wonder what wil happen next in it, and how it will all end. it too is a survile one that has abit of a Blue Gender feel to it, and just incase you dont know, Blue Gender is a anime, not a manga)
- Konjiki no Gash Bell (Just like One Piece, this one is a really fun and funny page turner that i just cant get enough of)
- Parasyte (its very unique and a rather intresing series with a nice mix of horror in it)
- Uzumaki (it too is just very unique, crazy, sick, and just all around aweosme!)
- NHK ni Youkoso! (just Crazy and funny and so on)
- Yakitate!! Japan (who knew a manga on bread making would be some fun and funny. It even made me want to beacome a baker well i was reading it >_> )
- Ping Pong Club (man its just halarious and perverted. fuck i wish the scanlation of it wasnt dead sigh)
- The Law of Ueki (lol manb has this fun series grown on me. It's battles later on become well tought out and it feels like the charcters are really thinking of differnt ways to use they;re powers incombat, like utalizing things that surounds them. The battles in it just feel like they improve apond what other shounen series tend to over look, and thats not being easy to predic what will happen next and actually impressig me at times aswell with some of the stratiges that were tought up. worth reading if you like fun shounen series like Konjiki no Gash Bell and such)
- Yotsubato! (lol because its just alot of fun in a very slice of life way, who knew that the whole little girl doesnt really know much of what anything is could be soo funny and injoyable)
- Akira (because its mother fucking Akira, thats why)
- Blame! (the story is so-so and the ending was... yeah, its was something... but man was it every one crazy crazy ass ride. its a fast read and the whole crative dark art sytle of Nehei is just amazing! if you are a persion who is a lover of art, especial dark art like i am, then you will really injoy reading this series)
- Ode to Kirihito (after reading Buddha and this, it just very aperint why Tezuka is consiter the godfather of manga, hes just that great. I think people who havent read any of his work thinks thats hes like the japanese Walt Disny in way that hes just has that kind of status and that he does mostly kids like manga, like Astro boy...well im sure they would be surprised well reading Ode to Kirihito as its rather mature, and just something that a seinen lover can sink they're teeths into. Its 840 something pages of old school greatness!)
- Cat Eyed Boy (wel it may bot be that much of a page turner for some or most people, but for those who loved The Drifting Class Room and Gegege no Kitaro wi more then likely love it. It has the whole Gegege no Kitaro vib and its just silly and alot of old school horror manga fun)
- Chikyu Misaki (I cant help but feel this shoud be made into a movie or a OVA, as it really has this kinda family movie thing going on with it. It was a differnt intresting type a read i have to say. I rather injoyed it)
- Death Note (Just a big ass mind game of cat and mouse)
- Ichi the Killer (Its a pager turner if you're a sick fucker. Which i am 😀 )
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (its a master piece and its from Hayao Miyazaki, need i say more?)
- Planetes (the charcters are very likible and intresting in it and also the mangaka does an amazing job with really fleshing out how the future could be)
- Paradise Kiss (a must read for Josei fans)
- Detective Conan (the mysterys in it can be very well tought out)
- Hana Yori Dango (...its been sometime sense i have read this series, but i remmber finding it to be very good back then)
- Hot Gimmick (you just cant help but have to see what drama happens next. just not that the series can be rather fustarting due to the main charcter liking to do and say things that she should know damn well that she shouldt shakes head)
- Homunculus (an intresting well tought out series. its just never a good thing when its a slow moving manga story wise and such and also a very slow moving manga when it comes to the release rate, like around 1 volume to 2 a year 🙁 )
- Noritaka (this series is fun and really makes you root for the under dog. more people should read it and i wish that it would be scanlated more too)
- Rookies (dont know why, i dont like baseball, but yet i really like this series and couldnt stop reading it. worth trying, especialy if you;re a fan of GTO and series like it)
- Shamo (if you like martial arts, mature series, and main chactors that are a aniti-hero type of chacrter, then this is the series for you)
That was more typing then i wanted it to be...and i know that i made a good amount of spelling mastakes and such...but after wrighting all that, im just too damn lazy to bother to go back and correct them, so you guys can just deal with it.

You should try Initial D. Very good manga about street racing. Try Immortal Regis. If that doesn't get you addicted then I don't know what will. It's just incredible. Get backers is very good too, so try it too. Übel Blatt has a pretty good story too so try that too 😛

OH MY GOD HOMUNCULUS. Of course! How could I forget? Sadly, there've been no updates for that project in a good long while. 🙁 Why doesn't someone license it, already? It'd definitely have an audience among seinen fans in English-speaking countries... I'd buy the whole set, for realz.
Read manga with the following themes...
Politics
Power Couples
Pure Subtext

I'd have to say Hana Yori Dango. Every single person I know who has read it agree on the same thing: it's incredibly stupid and unrealistic, yet you just can't put it down. Even my own Mother pulled an all-nighter finishing it.

Thirding, I believe, Slam Dunk - it's hilarious, moving, and truly un-put-down-able, whether you're a basketball fan or not (I'm not). Miriam is a fun, fast-paced Wild West romance that I stayed up reeeeeeally late reading, and Dengeki Daisy's good as long as you don't mind the typical shoujo type manga - it's addictive. Also H20
Liar Game
K no Souretsu [i actually did read this in one go O.o]
Bride of the Water God
i just really liked the plot.
