sad + heart warming

hello peps. last night I came across a topic that caught my interest which is,
Manga that make you cry well being a girl that is we usually touched by small things and I just REREAD Yumenara Samenaide and to think that one manga can give out the whole point of true love and faithfullness. This manga is so simple yet so touching without any sexual content. Get what I mean?
I am looking for heart warming / sad / tragedy / something similar in the manga it can be oneshot ( mostly) or full volume.
The manga should be ;
- Shoujo because I need boy x girl not boy x boy
- ** I don't really care about art because great manga don't need pretty pretty art to capture your attention,**
- Well, I like to see the boy faithfullness or he's the one that make the whole point of sadness like he died or the one sacrifice himself or something. Just check this manga please!
Shouldn't have ;
- Hentai / Ecchi / Yaoi / Yuri / smut because that is not really the whole point in sad manga
Manga that I've reread ;
- Hotaru No Mori E ( even bought the oneshot at local store cause I love the 2nd story so much! )
- Mucha Kucha Daisuki
- Natsume Yuujinchou ( anime thou )
- Immortal Rain well most of you know this manga!
- Hana to Akuma ( yes, really sad and romantic )
- Papa to Arukou
Currently reading ;
- Ai -ren even though its under "ecchi" 🤢 Just to give a shot.
Thank you. Your reply really appreciate!

Bitter Virgin comes immediately to mind. Although I'm not sure it's exactly what most would consider heart-warming. But it does have a happy ending and satisfying closure about the tragedy that was the female earlier life.
Some will avoid Ai-Ren because of the ecchi and nudity. Those people are fools. Ai-Ren, although tragic, is the single most beautifully told love story in any manga I've read. As a clinically diagnosed Sociopath (the test was court-ordered, but that's another story) it is almost impossible for anything to emotionally move me (unless anger counts as an emotion, but that involves a different clinical diagnosis) but when I finished Ai-Ren I spent most of an afternoon crying eyes out. Ai-Ren is, in my opinion, perfectly executed.

You know it's a waste if you're only looking at shoujo titles.
Mushishi is a good manga (or anime), and it's seinen. It's not like it's boy x boy either.
Another is A Lollipop or A Bullet, it might seem shoujo-ai but it's not, and it's a really sad story as well.
Bitter Virgin is good too.
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan will make you cry as well~
Kigi no Yukue fits your criteria though. As well as Boku ga Utau to Kimi wa Warau kara.

Fruits Basket -- even though it's long, it's really heart-warming and nice... my first manga (and I'm glad it was my first).
Hanatsukihime -- I cried... no idea why... but I did. Short, 2 volumes.
I'll update more. Gotta go eat dinner. Will add in an hour or so!!!

Eden No Hana
if you can stomach incestuous themes. She was abused, and he helps her deal with that, and later on, you find out that her past was even more tragic than you originally thought.
Vampire Game
It's heartwarming, because there is much love, but it's sad, because the male lead is always trying to make sure the female lead is happy and protect her, even though she's in love with someone else, and doesn't even realize he loves her.
Blood +
Not gonna spoil it for you, but if you're into the whole sacrifice for love thing, there's a lot of that here. Watch the anime, though. Most people agree that it's much better (it was an anime first).
Nabari No Ou
So sad! Not a girl/guy relationship, but a bromance, though. but it's still REALLY good, and that doesn't mean there isn't romance in it. That's just not the sad part. The sad part, is that this emotionless kid, who sort of watches life pass him by, finally finds someone he learns to care about, but this person is dying. It gets worse. The main character can save him, but this guy doesn't want to be saved. So sad, because the main character has to choose between following what this person desires, or betraying them and selfishly saving their life. At the same time, their friendship is extremely heartwarming.
Hope this helped! I enjoyed all of these manga/anime, so I think they're all good options. I cried during all of them.
I also second Fruits Basket, though if you're looking for a tragic ending, maybe not so much. But definitely heartwarming. And really sad (during the middle, anyway.) I cried during this one too.

Thank you guys for the recommendations!
Ah yes for Ai-Ren, maybe I am not legal to read it since Im not 18 so those nudity and ecchi content maybe too much for me. Well yeah pathetic girl I know.
Watashi No Shiawase Jikan I've read it but forgot to put in the description. it is sad thou. I cried. Same goes to Fruit Basket. I don't read the manga but did watch the anime. Maybe I'll consider to read the manga 🙂
Niica ;
Yeah. I should be more open minded so i think other than shoujo would do. I just need a nice story to begin with not necessarily shoujos though.
I'm puttin all this into my reading list! Thank you, still want more~
Phalene could fit..It's actually one of my favorites..
I can't remember anymore..I'll edit/add later when I remember.
this ones not sad but it has the true love/regret stuff --> Heptagon

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

Made in Heaven
Maybe Hoshi no Koe.
A Lollipop or a Bullet is fantastic, but not sure if it's what you're looking for (it's not romance, for starters) - but as far as cute/depressing combo goes it's pretty high up there.

I second ampire game and fruit basket...
Karin - This manga almost mad me cry especially at the ending....
Emma - it won't make you cry but its heart-warming and has slow romantic..
hana no namae - well, its kind of slow manga. The guy take care of her when her parents died. When her parents she become like a doll, not aware what happen around her and not able to speak. But she start to open up. And this guy has his own dark past.
Anya Kouro - the guy has some sickness. Really heart warming
Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu - Not sad but heart warming.

Toumei na Sekai
I second Hoshi no Koe
Something like Taiyou no Uta
Daddy Long Legs
In terms of ongoing manga, I would really recommend 7 Seeds. The number of times I have almost cried my face off reading this manga is astounding. It is heartbreaking but so heartwarming too, to see what other people are willing to sacrifice for others.
As for Ai-ren, I'm like you, female, mostly read shoujo, not into ecchi at all, but I really recommend that you keep reading even if parts of it put you off, it was one of the first manga to make me cry.

Little Little; very heart-warming but there's no text. And there is a bit of shoujo-ai implications but i don't think it is. Oh and it's a seinen if you don't mind >>

Same goes to Fruit Basket. I don't read the manga but did watch the anime. Maybe I'll consider to read the manga 🙂
Dude! Read it! It's worth it! The anime just ended before you saw all these beautiful friendships/relationships blossom! You will need tissues by the last third of the manga!!
And I just finished reading your example (Yumenara Samenaide), so for sure my Hanatsukihime falls into that category!
As for touching, heart-warming manga to add:
SAHARA Mizu / aka YUMEKA Sumomo's work is guaranteed to make those tear drops fall. I'm sure you're familiar with her, but these were my favorite one-shots:
Kon no Ki Konoha
Bus Hashiru and Nanairo Sekai (just read all one-shots in both volumes)
Kimi wa Boku no Taiyou <3 even if it's not love between a man and a woman, it's lovely!
What about child-care works? They're so nice:
Forever Honey - tear-jerker one-shot... have tissues ready!
Usagi Drop - I don't think you'll cry... but you'll feel all warm and fuzzy. It's so nice. 😀
And for anime: Honey and Clover -- hands down! Beautiful... absolutely beautiful (of course, it's my opinion and many other internet blogs out there). But you may want to save this one for later... it's more about college life and finding yourself... recommended for those who are living away from home... graduating college... etc...

Seconding Anya Kouro.
Adding (shoujo examples):
Shinigami no Ballad
Mekakushi no Kuni
Ano Ko to Boku no Ie (the one-shot at the end)
Wild Cats
A Million-Pound Love
Yume Kurai
Sayonara Watashitachi (the last story)
I see you've already read the shoujo versions of Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai and Kizu, but the shounen versions are more fleshed out.
Non-shoujo examples:
Fullmetal Alchemist
March Story—contains gore and light nudity
Arata Kangatari
Bernie's Drawing Diary
Letter Bee
If you don't mind a short anime, then check out Tsumiki no Ie; it's only 12 minutes.
