I just need something GOOD to read...
Lately, manga's been soooo boring for me. I need a series I REALLY would want to read that'll catch my attention for sure, and get me back into manga like I was 2 years ago. I'm so sick of reading manga and thinking "well, this is fucking boring." or getting tired of it after 1 chapter. I need something that'll catch my attention right away from chapter 1 (a series that managed to do so is Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen)
I've made my lists public (unfinished isn't public... don't want anyone to see it and get discouraged from recommending a series I might have in it). Although I probably have about 30% of my wishlist on reading/complete now... horray for lazy updating.
Stuff I Like:
Shoujo (Haha, yes, I do) - I can NOT, for the life of me, stand slow-paced shoujo that takes 20 volumes to develop something. I like shoujos like Hana-Kimi [it's slow-paced, but the GB makes up for it ;D] and Koukou Debut. NO ANNOYING CHARACTERS!!! Give me characters to fall in love with.
Josei - Give me some mature josei to read. Sometimes I get sick of whiny 16 year old girls, so I need some mature stories to read about college, life, work, etc etc...
Smut (Guilty pleasure) - i do enjoy smut. XD I'm such a smut freak, you've no idea. Hahaha. However, there doesn't have to be smut in ALL series. So don't be afraid to recommend non-smut. I will say, however, I do like josei smut better than shoujo smut.
Gender Bender - WHOOO! I prefer girl > boy (Hana-Kimi), but boy>girl is sometimes just as fun. ;3 Body swapping is cool too. Though knowing me, I've probably read every GB out there. >__>; Heh.
Shounen - I'm very picky on shounen, but sometimes, nothing but it can do. I like romantic comedy shounens with kick-ass leads. Shounens I love to death and are perfect examples are Mel Kano and School Rumble. Know any series like those two? GIVE THEM TO ME RIGHT NOW!!
Seinen - Sometimes nothing but psychological and more mature seinens will do. >_>; Sex, guns, and drugs ftw. ;< I loved Futari Ecchi for awhile, but then it got so repetitive it was too annoying for my brain to handle. Of course, psychological seinens are pure win. I love mind-fucking.
Yuri - I do like my Yuri and shoujo-ai now and then. For yuri though, I'm kinda strict. It's gotta be worth reading and shit. ^^ I like love triangles involving 2 girls + 1 guy, straight-girl suddenly going ga-ga over another girl and going emo about it, etc etc... you know, that kinda jazz. Of course, I also enjoy that smutty yuri that's just filled with ecchi and ecchi! Perfect example of that would be Yuri Hime Wildrose, which I found super hot.
PRETTY ARTWORK - Sometimes just the artwork itself mesmerizes me. XD Especially that pretty artwork some seinen has. I don't want any of that ET-eye shit Tanemura Arina draws - that's a no-no. 😐 I tried to read Shinshi Doumei Cross, but it got so retarded my brain just couldn't handle it anymore.
Incest - I LOVE INCEST STORIES. FTW. Oniichan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki ja Nai n da kara ne!! IS PURE WIN. Kiken Jun'ai D.N.A. is also pure win. I love all incest stories. GIVE ME INCEST!
Teacher/Student - I love all teacher/student relationships. 'Nuff said. >__>; I prefer male teacher x female student, but sometimes the other is fine too (Teacher's Pet anyone?)
...uh, is that it?
I think it is.
Anyway, those are my preferences, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to things outside of that. ^^ So it's all cool.
One quick question... how good is Until Death Do Us Part? I have a hot-ass wallpaper of it, but I'm hesitating to read the manga. Is it worth it? Are the characters kick-ass? Just how hot is the artwork? As hot as my wallpaper?
THANKS IN ADVANCE. I hope you can get me back into manga. I just can't find anything to read, it's so frustrating reading the same shit over and over again. 🙁

jisatsu circle I'm going to go noting down one by one...
I already read GTO (like I said, list is outdated xD) and it is pretty kickass. I loved it. Been thinking of checking out the anime. Is it worth it?
Ubel Blatt... hmm, I don't know yet. Seems to berserk-ish for me. o_x; I enjoyed Berserk at first, but then it got boring a bit into it (for me, anyway).
Jisatsu Circle... zomg. I was looking for the Suicide Club manga one day, but couldn't find it! XD Thanks so much. Never knew it was on my wishlist, haha.
@KittyTea Not my cup of tea. Maybe it's just me, but I got bored of it after the 3rd volume or so. Give me a reason to go back to it, and I might.
@Walrothetacoking Enchanter & Kurohime just don't catch my attention. o__x; I'll check the first few chapters of each, and see what to make out then. Same with Claymore. But it looks too long for my taste. I'm hesitant to start long mangas.
TISTA LOOKS AWESOME!! runs off to lurk WOOT, PSYCHOLOGICAL.
Zero I'll toss into my wishlist, but read it when it's fully scanlated.
Dance in the Vampire Bund looks okay, but the lolicon throws me off.
I'm not a huge fan of the ecchi + harem combination. o_x;
Himegami looks great, so does Sasame Kikoto. Girl Friends seems too typical for me, so I'll hold off for now. Gurenki too. HEN I think I read a bit off, not sure. I'll go check my files.
@otakuness not a big fan of Kaori Yuki. Read the latter, thanks anyway. ^__^
@base_coat di(e)ce I'll wait for a bit more in the scanlation field. Dolls I might've read, don't even remember. @_@;
Kindan Princess, hahaha. I'm so going to download that right now. XD Mehyou too. Seems to be an anthology, so it looks okay. Octave I'll wait a bit on. Seijou Kouchakan no Jijou looks great, I'll toss into my to-read list.
@hum87 Read Midnight Secretary, Private Prince, Hapi Mari, Skip Beat, SA, Kiss/Hug, and about 90% of those. I don't think I've read The One (too lazy to look it up), but Secret Kiss I might've not. I'll check.
I gotta be honest... Skip Beat is great and all, but it's a bit overrated. just like S.A. S.A. i had to force myself through to read it. I just couldn't find anything epic worthy about it. The only thing I like about S.A. is Megumi x Yahiro, and Ryuu x Finn (I think the Megumi x Yahiro ep of the anime is the only thing that got me through watching those 24 eps). Skip Beat is so SLOW PACED. And it's just... UGH. I can't stand popular series, for they never fucking end.
WHOA, RANTING HERE!
Okay, I'll stop.
ANYWAY GUYS, thanks so much for the suggestions. I'll get started right now. Of course, you guys can keep suggesting more, cause that be totally awesome.

Glad to see some of my manga suggestions were useful to you. Tista is pretty good, despite being a lot shorter than it should have been.
It's a mistake to judge Kurohime by the first few chapters. It doesn't become the good manga it is until like the twelfth or so chapter.
I have the same problem with getting into longer series; Claymore is my favorite manga though, so I feel it's worth it.
With Dance in the Vampire Bund, I don't find the lolicon to be too prominent an issue. The character is young in appearance though mentally more mature and it's generally plot focused to the point where I think it could be enjoyed in spite of it (aside from a few particular scenes).
I hate ecchi harem stuff too. Change 123 is palatable though, as it's different. The "harem" is actually one girl with four split personalities.
Girl Friends could be described as typical yuri. I wouldn't describe Gurenki as being so though. The plot is still developing but seems strong, and the art is exceptional.
And, I guess since I'm replying again I'll add some more random suggestions; maybe one will interest you:
Shounen:
Highschool of the Dead
Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge
Aflame Inferno
Veritas
ZeroIn
Seinen:
Hoshi no Samidare
Shin Angyo Onshi
Seikon no Quasar
Kurokami
Shoujo-ai/yuri: most of these titles (all but the first) only have a few chapters out so far, either because they have a slow release pattern, or because scans just started, but they seem like unique yuri manga so far, if that's what your after:
Strawberry Shake
Sugar wa Otoshigoro
Kurogane Pukapuka Tai
Flower Flower
Epitaph
Tokimeki Mononoke Jogakkou
Tree + Taco = Tree taco.

If it's that good, then I'll check out Claymore. Just not right now - I wanna read shorter series then get into those longer ones. ^^
Kurohime... I don't know, it just doesn't call my attention. o__x;
I'll hold off Change 123 for now, but we'll see later.
I read Negative Happy Chainsaw, and the first chap of High School of the Dead agesss ago. I know it didn't catch my attention that much, but it was ages ago, and my tastes have changed, so we'll see! I read Aflame too. Zero In actually looks like something I might enjoy, so I'll definitely check that out.
I read Flower Flower, I love it. XD; I'll check out the others - Strawberry Shake seems interesting.
Shin Angyo Onshi I tried to read, but it didn't manage to hold my attention for long. Wakusei no Samidare seems like something I'd like (just judging from cover, genre tags, and short summary).
Kurokami is far into the scanlation, so I'll toss that into my wishlist too. The art & story look great.
Thank you very much for all the recommendations. ^^ These are great~ I'm already planning to download Zero, Tista and HEN once lurk is back up. :3

I actually second Dance in the Vampire Bund. The lolicon throws you off at first, but once you read into it more, it becomes more easy to handle -- taking into account that the lolicon in there is between a girl hundreds and hundreds of years old and a guy.
