Well I'm in love w/ Bleach and have been for a while. I like Naruto and I read the chaps when they come out, but I went through the phase every Naru fan goes through; when they just hate the crap out of the show, and every time Naruto shows his stupid face on the screen and his annoying voice and "I suck but I'm a real go-getter" attitude, they just wanna puke. I also got bored of the fact that Sasuke waltzed around like the Lord Jesus Christ for like 30 chapters. mad ... *takes deep breath* woosah... woosah.

I would say both have their faults but if I hated one it would definitely be Naruto. In fact, I'm still getting over my recent Naruto hate stint b/c most of the characters are gradually getting less annoying (other than Sakura whom I will hate till the grave eyes ).

In term of repetitions, Inuyasha and Conan should rank among the top... When are they gonna end the series, wondering if Takahashi Rumiko has ever become sicked of her own while thinking about the new chapter... While Conan was a great manga for its first 20 volume, now, it's like deja vu over and over again... These two manga should ended long long time ago... Meanwhile ,although I hate and getting annoyed by the main character in Naruto, I still think that the story is way better than many other action/fighting Shounen...

I'm sorry, but where is Hajime no Ippo? Srsly, 800 chapters is alot more than 600/500.

Eh.. I don't hate Naruto or Bleach, I may be annoyed with each from time to time, but I don't really hate either series.

holy crap who dragged this back from the dredges of the interwebs? This, unfortunately was one of my more shameful threads, not because I like bleach or naruto now (still don't) but because of all the hate and whatever it incited. Oh well.

lolz It was that person migitlicious. And yeah you and that guy got pretty angry but it was also pretty hilarious. laugh

Anyway I think the last poster on page 5 hit the nail on the head as to why so many people dislike Bleach and Naruto and call it "cliched", yet at the same time praise manga that follow the exact same pattern almost to "t" (HunterxHunter, YuYu Hakusho, Kekkaishi, Fairy Tale, 666 Satan, One Piece). The reason simply being b/c Bleach and Naruto stand out in terms of popularity.

If you read and try to understand Naruto you'll actually find that the writing is pretty clever and a lot of things have meanings behind them (The Sannin naming scheme, Neji's name, a lot of the jutsu, and even some of the humor). The same goes for Bleach, which has some pretty good writing despite the general consensus (Nnoitra's backstory, Orihime's farewell, the current History arc, etc.). Bleach has more of a poetic flow to it than other shonen from the titles of the chapters, to Zanpakuto names, to kido attacks.

Of course if you don't like shonen in general then that could be a leading factor. ^_^ Personally I can't stand most shonen period, esp. one's that every just faps over like Negima, Air Gear, Code Geass (although I don't hate it I just think it's overrated), and Claymore. eyes

Hate Bleach, love Naruto.
I don't like the Naruto anime, though. It was fine until the filler, but after a few episodes of that I gave up and started reading where the anime left off, in the manga. And it's great.

Bleach, I randomly decided to watch. I watched it a few years ago (back when there was only like 30-something episodes out!) and watched three episodes. I thought it was very interesting, but then I forgot about it completely. xD
About half a year ago, I caught up to episode 131 or something like that, skipping most of the filler. It was a spontaneous thing that I decided to do in a weekend. And I haven't seen an episode since. It's just . . boring. All it is is "FIGHTFIGHTFIGHT". At least Naruto has character development, which I am all about. Bleach has none whatsoever, and I didn't like or feel attached to any of the characters. Some were okay, but they were nothing interesting.

No, not really. Yeah sure the fillers are pretty annoying. (gotta agree with ya there!) But c'mon, they're fillers...what do you expect? You just gotta keep on watching and it gets to the plot again and even better. Though the manga is really good though smile

Indeed, longest time to end the series. It drag on for so long. Sasuke was already emo from the begining, he just got worst. biggrin I wouldnt go to such length to say i hate it, just disappointing, ne? It could have been better.
w/e I just want to know the ending. I stop watching the series for awhile already. God knows, what episode I last seen those 2 series.
For Naruto, on the 2nd season he looks the same. It be a lil' nice he became better look'n. Ha, what am I saying? that would probably ruin the series (or will it?)
For Bleach, I thought it was somewhat cool that
Spoiler (highlight to view)
he could become a hollow, but only for a short amount of time (wtf?) Later on, there are others that can become hollow.

So pretty much, I'm neutral (?) Lol. -shrugs-

Well to be honest at least good guys are actually allowed to die in Naruto, it seems they are all invincible in Bleach, and even the bad guys seem to be immortal in One Piece.

well in One Piece's defense deaths, Oda said he felt that there were more severe punishments to be had other than death. i guess he was going by the thinking that "death makes us all equal" or something like that for his characters. other than that i don't really know why Kubo doesn't kill anyone else that isn't a hollow in his story.... that could be one of the more larger gripes for the story.

Tbh, I hate them both =)
Too long, alot of fillers, too repetitive and I feel asleep.
Not my genre anyways.

I read them but only cuz I already started reading them, and its to late to stop now...^_^''

But I stoped reading Bleach since it boring!!! No matter what happens they just dont die. At one point one of them had his body almost cut in half, blood coming out non-stop and his losing blood for like mayby 3-4 chapters. But then what do you know, his alive!! And he only has some bandeges around his torso. And another time the quincy has his liver, kidnies, stomach and some more important organs crushed but he keeps talking and fighting like nothing happened. Its just boring, everytime they fight some1 strong I dont care cuz I know they will win and no matter how much they are hurt they cant die!!!

Bleach SUXXXX

I never read Naruto or Bleach.
Reason: It seems some normal and very big shounen manga and I don't like the art. Some storys are so interesting that even with a bad art I saw them but I don't thing this is the case. Maybe they are good mangas but I don't will give this an oportunity. bigrazz

I agree completely,

Spoiler (highlight to view)
Bleach started off well enough but they seem to cling to Rukia as a character. IMO she should've died 10 mins after giving Ichigo his powers.
The anime is even worse, just when it looks like they finally were gonna let her die, they switch gears and go into some lame sidestory, where once again Ichigo fights some strong boss-type guy and is always on par or just under par for power with the present boss.

Naruto isn't too bad now, it seems anyone can die with the exception of Naruto.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
At least 4 major people died 2 good, Asuma-sensei and Jiraiya, 2 bad Orochimaru within Sasuke and Itachi (who is now cleared of all crimes against the Uchiha)
I think as they make him older the more realistic the world of the ninja will get, basically the show is a complete take of his memories before becoming Hokage. So when he's 13 all you'll be seeing is minor stuff with not too much death, 15 or16, a little more death and acceptance of it. 19 or 20 who knows....
