this is quite a long while since i read this manga, but i remember that i read it with gusto, it is quite immersive experience and funny to boot. i was not even fazed by the scat comedy abounded in the manga, and i think arale is very cool. i always hated dragon ball since i was little, i remember i thought it was 'pointless' and 'directionless' with everyone getting stronger and stronger, but dr slump is even more pointless and directionless but i still find it funny, it is quite a shock to me now. ah well, i might just like scat comedy.
this manga was serialized at shonen jump? i've read 2 volumes and i thought it was from a kodomo magazine with the round character designs and all...anyway i was taken by surprise because this was much better than i thought it would be....the sense of humour appeals to me a lot...the humour is nutty,zany,silly,random and a bit crazy in general but it does the trick for me and it made me laugh...best approach is to start reading from the start even though it has a one-shot approach and read many chapters to start getting into it....i must say i really like the artwork...you can clearly see the effort that mr. toriyama put in drawing it..the designs are lovable and the backgrounds are beautifully detailed in some panels...the absence of computer aids gives it an overall warmer feel...not that modern manga artwork is tasteless by any means but it sure is nice to see nice designs at a manga without the help of a computer
i used to have a thing aginst FEMALE robots, but arale changed my view, shes so cute!! and the whole mangas hilarious, i love it!! though it is a bit perverted XD....
