I just saw the genre for the first time in a long time and it says tragedy.... AHHHH....... What's gonna happen what's gonna happen.... This is like the only Mayu Shinjo manga that I actually sorta pay attention to........ oh well, I have to admit I like tragedies.... Just don't like that they gave away the ending....

I like some parts of the story, but the majority of it was a turn off for me. The male lead can be really sweet and gentle at times, but that doesn't make up for all the other times he's a jerk to the female lead, especially when it involves rape. The female lead was really annoying. Her innocence was fine for the first 3 volumes, but when she was still like that past volume 3, it really got to be too much. The drama is way over the top to the point of being ridiculous and there's so much rape in this story it's not even funny.

Though, despite what sounds like a negative review, for some reason I still stuck to this manga and read it to the end. There's something about it that just kept me going, so I can't say it was all bad...it just could have been much much better.

its pretty dramatic but overall the plot kept me kinda interested ... the lead female is a lil naive while the lead male tries really hard but sometimes fails. looking foward to the next chapter.

I love this manga. It's really pretty good, and I would suggest reading it. Maybe I'm a mature junkie? Who knows. But the mature-ness was just what I was looking for, and their is some depth to the manga, at least. Different from many of Shinjo Mayu's other works, and that's what I like.

The one thing that makes me waver: Kurumi. The female protagonist is so annoyingly stupid I could off myself, because it ruins the manga slightly for me. I wish she were a little stronger, smarter, something to give her that amazingness. It maybe wishful thinking, and I know she adds to the drama slightly (?) but c'mon, really. The innocence thing can only go so far in this manga, when it demands maturity like this.

Besides that, the manga is really good, so don't let Kurumi stop you. If you're into the maturity and the not-the-typical shoujo thing, I definitely recommend this. ^^

EDIT: The ending is stupid and sad, damnit. D= And, after re-reading this, I lied. Let Kurumi stop you. Really, there have been some dumb ones, but Kurumi takes the cake, and I mean that.

I don't know what went through my head, but my opinion has changed as I read some of the chapters again. It made me realized how stupid the whole manga is, and probably the worst manga I've read... EVER. Mayu Shinjo loves to write mangas about a poor innocent girl getting bullied by a guy who's obviously more rich and superior than she is, and it's pathetic. Highly offensive to any girls that read this.

A girl who continues to love someone who has hurt her, is a total bleedin' moron. No way around it.
Even if "love" was what was between those two. I gave up after the second chapter, because I just could not take the pathetic, helpless nature of Kurumi.

And how the jekyll can you go along with glorification of the mafia like that? It is unrealistic in the worst way.
GAAAAAAAARGGGGHHHHH!!!!! SO ANGRY! HULK SMASH! CRUNCH! GNAW!

although i read Shinjo's other mangas too, this particular one stuck in my mind. i don't know, whether it was because of the sex content, the twisted male character or the ending . however, in the end i found its story shallow and unrealistic.while reading I compared it with the Minegishi Nobuaki's "Old Boy", which is far better written and more complicated than this one, simply because of its mysterious and psychological elements.

If you have too much spare time, you can read it. But it is definitely not for the kids biggrin

I read up to the first chapter of the seventh volume. This story is really cheesy. It was good for the first four volumes, I won't deny it, but it just started to drag on and on and to be honest I'm sick of it.

I don't recommend this at all.
