This is one of the best mangas i've ever read. The plot is really awesome, with twists and turns everywhere. I really hate and love the story at the same time. It has nearly every theme of sci-fi. There are body-modifications, cloning, cyberbrains, cyborgs, androids, robots, spaceships, and other things i forgot. This is a must read!
the previous series didnt provide much info on alita when she was in mars. and the ending feel kinda rushed. though it is a good ending. this sequel provide more info on alita background..i believe this one will give me a satisfying ending.
Battle Angel Alita and Battle Angel Alita Last Order are everything I wish mainstream manga would be. The original series is more serious than the sequel, but that doesn't make Last Order vastly inferior or anything. It's still an easy ten.
The vampire arc, which has encompassed the last two US published volumes, was pretty weak in my opinion. However volume ten and eleven more than make up for it.

This is a Sci fi manga that you cannot miss. In my opinion, this is the way that BAA should have really continued on, so i consider this as the proper sequel and not just an alternate story. The Original BAA ending was good but this is better.

Okay, I'm seriously in love with this manga. It's one of the most engrossing and satisfying scifi mangas I've ever read. Also, Alita/Gally kicks mucho serious booty.
I love the wide variety of themes covered, and how well the multiple characters are juggled, truly this is a scifi must read!
I'll admit my love for Alita is spread across the first series as well, in fact it is definitly better, but this one still rocks!
ch 72 has me so excited! I can't wait for the next one!

But still a very good manga. Sci fi lovers should give it a go.
this hardly can be called a sequel. as you know, at the orignal's end, professor Nova became a walking flowerpot, and alita was reborn as ... (or at least it makes you think like that ;) ) ...well, you know the ending
Just look at this as an alternative story - at least i prefer to do that. not as great as 1st one, but not bad either.

My impression of battle angel alita is always COME GIMME THE NEXT VOLUME!!! ARRGGGhh!
Battle Angel Alita is a great mix up of philosophical ideas like "brain in a vat" just like the matrix, human sensibility, political rot, and what appeals to me the most is the great amount of physics theories that was researched and incorporated in the manga... simply NICE!
