I loved it. when i first read it i kept calling it a soap opera in manga form because the relationships are always changing with some plot twist. And the parents were just insain! this is what keeps it so awesome. I know reading it I would always make fun of it but that was only because I loved it so much. That and it was funny to begin with. Cute story, good ending. Love! Love! Love it!!

Naïve, Boring... and Stupid
by La Plume

One of the first shoujo I've ever read, was pretty young back then and didn't really like it... Ten years later and after having reread it... It's even more stupid than I thought it was back then.

The main heroïne is spending the whole time wondering... and wondering... and wondering to the point of ultimate boredom. No personnality at all, she's plain and boring. Her best friend is in in love with her teacher, classic shoujo cliché, but it's not even dealt with a slightest bit of originality.

It's seems like an accumulation of clichés put together but never exploited with Inventiveness. With such a long carreer, I was expecting something else but every mangas she's done I've read so far are so damn superficial It's a pain. Among them, Marmalade Boy is certainly one of the worst she's done.
I can't even explain how the hell did I manage to finish it twice.

I very like the story about Miki and Yuu (YUU LOVE). The arts are... clear and the characters has realistic traits. It's one of my favourite mangas!

Haha. It's so insane. Like it would ever happen in real life.
But I love it anyway. xDD. It's a really good read, besides. It's funny and cute. I would read it just because how cute it is (makes me blush) and because I love Yoshizumi-sensei's art. From start to now.

A really cute and sweet story. Only 8 volumes, so it's not too drawn out, but the characters never develop beyond their original personalities. The ending doesn't feel as dramatic as it could be, but it's still satisfying.

It was really cute, but I found the last few volumes very circular and pointless. Overall, the idea is quite funny. My favourite characters were the parents since they were really weird and interesting. It's cute, but a lot of the stuff is cliche.

Manga's OK, Anime's even worse

Well, I guess the title says it all. I made the mistake of watching the anime first, and was disgusted and repulsed. Did it really take 72 episodes to chose Yuu, Miki? At the prodding of a friend I finished the manga and I must say it was loads better, it almost didn't drag at all. It was better in my opinion than Kare Kano, but Hana Yori Dango still reins supreme......ESPECIALLY the live j-drama.

This manga is good and all, but it's so typical shoujo. You've got your handsome boy, the simple and smiling girl, and to be honest, every single event that seems to be a "dramatic point" in the manga, I've read in countless other shoujo manga. If you're an avid shoujo fan, you've probably read this kind of manga many times. I'm not recommending it to anyone unless you plan to read 8 volumes and like these kind of stories. Halfway through, I couldn't bare to read it any further. The only point that was actually slightly interesting was
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
when Yuu turned out to be the son of a someone else, not Matsuura Youji (though that kind of thing is also pretty common if you think about it), but even that turned out to be untrue. I also disliked Yuu because he kept being so indecisive about his feelings toward Miki, not even bothering to check if they really were siblings or not.
The part about the two families living together just seems to be an excuse for Miki and Yuu to live together, it's really unrealistic.
