first 1 i've ever given out to ANYTHING...

Like, wtf??
I've given manga down to 4's, but nothing was bad enough to give a 1 to until now. and i've really brought up my standards since when i first started. like, fail much?
umm... does this story even have a plot? does rape, rape, rape, raped by another person, rape, rape, raped by other dude, rape, etc even count as a plot?
hello, Shinjo Mayu? I understand you have lots of fans and all, but that doesn't mean you can go around creating cra* for us to read, thanls.

It crossed the line

I can handle sexual intercourse as long as it's out of love--whether yuri, yaoi, hentai, so long as there is at least a bit of feelings put into their actions. Thus, raping someone you love is...tolerable enough--BUT (this is my major feminist side speaking), what I absolutely canNOT handle here is the fact that almost in every chapter...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the female lead is repeatedly touched, seen, and almost raped by nearly all the guys that she meet. Being raped by the male lead, I can live with that, but by OTHER GUYS? THAT has seriously cross the line!

I mean, don't get me wrong. I like some of Shinjo Mayu's works and can sort of tolerate her artistic skills, yet that one concept is the main thing I hate the most when it comes to shoujo smut.
That is why I just HAD to stop reading this half way. I thought at first, "wow...that was pretty hot" and recomended this to some of my friends, but when I continue to read further, my heart could no longer take the constant abuses. I got pass the
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
raping scene between the female lead and that one Hakuron dude, but I stopped when she pathetically ALLOWED another man she DON'T LOVE have sex with her all the way.

That's basically a sign of unfaithfulness! Yeah, some people may think she's better of with someone else, but HELLO?!?! No matter what Hakuron did to her, it was all out of kindness and love--which is...erm...acceptable...ish...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
But guys, Kurumi loves Hakuron even BEFORE he did all those horrible things, and Hakuron love her the same way, so I can't necessarily call this one "rape" (since, of course, there's a possible chance that she also enjoyed the torture *wink wink*).

So far his kindness was an adequate reason why I should continue reading pass those ahemscenesahem and because I am very curious about the aftermath.
And about the female lead. I understand that she is weak, but please don't hate her just because of her actions and so-called "kindness". Instead, pity on her. She never asked for any of those things to happen. Did you know that those types of actions and thoughts after experiencing such abuses happens in real life? I read about sexual abuses in this one article and what happens to the victim, though I don't remember exactly where. That's why I'd say Kurumi's personality is enough to say it was pretty realistic. If you hate her, then that just means you're the evil one. Seriously guys, maybe YOU should try standing in her place (though I'd hate to say this but, those who can't understand her feelings DO deserve being raped repeatedly as well) Even if you guys suggest that Kurumi should've stabbed him in the back, who would protect her now from all those other fuckers who'd force their way to her? As a matter of fact, maybe she DOESN'T really have a choice at all to escape, so, personally, I'm glad that she stayed with Hakuron rather than being abused by others who doesn't care a damn about her, which is worst than what Hakuron feels.

All in all, I still didn't have the heart to continue until the very end so I just suit myself with reading spoilers.
Anyway, the main point is, this is how Shinjo Mayu did her work. I don't think she's a sex addict at all. I guess it's just a matter of earning salaries with this job such as how erotic novelists does it. We can't stop her no matter how much hater comments you put here, and we can't control the fact that there are many perverts in Japan these days. But you know what? FUCKING DEAL WITH IT! If you don't like it, then DON'T READ! Problem solved.
Peace out!!! ;P

There's nothing than sex. And one more fell-in-love-with-the-forceful-rapist. I don't know but if my mind is right, Shinjo Mayu is sex addict. I've read some of her works and always ended up half way. When I read this manga review, I thought it would be interesting since it tells about yakuza life and takes the background in Hongkong. Then I regret it, this story is full of things about sex too.

Always having sex and having some unimportant problems. Okay, the main guy is cool and good-looking, but still as the story went, it annoyed me. The ending, it sucks! After 9 volumes waiting for what-the-ending-would-be-like, and the death of the guy was the answer. Oh yeah, he deserved it.

Don't read this. It was such a big waste time to read this one. There are still much better mangas.

Typical Shinjo Mayu

And God, I hate her works. Especially her heroins, so weak-willed, allowing themselves to be treated like shit, and repeating "It's my fault", "I love you anyway". Girl, go kill yourself please, you're just too stupid.

I've read good mangas about Stockholm syndrom, but that's not what it's all about here. Haou Airen just conveys the idea that (repeated) rape is trivial, as well as the victim falling for (worshipping !) her rapist, (no matter what he keeps doing to her) and that in the end, she can just sweep all of that aside (rapes + murders), marry her rapist and picture a happy loving life...
That's not just unrealistic, it's plain sick.
How one can call that romance is beyond me. And so is the reason why one would root and feel for either of the two protagonists, be it for the sick twisted rapist Hakuron, or for the whiny submissive moron Kurumi. I simply cannot comprehend it.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Then there is the end, Hakuron dies, and I'm so very happy about it ! I actually laughed my ass off at the end : as said below : He dies + AT THE F*CKING WEDDING + killed by a TOTALLY RANDOM CHARACTER = PURE WIN ! LOL, they should just have killed off Kurumi too.

So, yeah... Typical Shinjo Mayu, makes me want to puke as usual...

PS : I agree, Sunrises' comment is hilarious ! XD

I was near vomiting at the end of volume two. Seriously, how can ANYONE like this? Even for shoujo, this is INSANELY stupid. When I feel entertained, I can easily overlook flaws in the story, with this one, it is downright impossible.

I really have a weak spot for yakuza-romances, but even then, I've decided to skip this one. If you're looking for a yakuza-story with romance, a lot of smex, drama and some rape under-tones, then read ViewFinder. I know that it's a yaoi-manga, but anything is better than this one - even if you hate BL.

He may have an angelic face, but definitely not an angelic heart. Yes, i think Hakuron is handsome. So what? I read this till like, chapter 5? And i couldn't continue anymore... I did try to return to it afterwards and, ahem, i saw A LOOOOT of rape. I mean i'm the type who really reads hardcore smut (not hentai, they're different) but i really couldn't put up with this. I have some points i'd like to make though.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Okay, for a first, who the heck allows herself to be raped repeatedly and trampled on like shit? -_-

I know she tried to escape and ended up with Kaafei, but she still returned to him after that and
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
he raped her in front of Kaafei

I'm sorry, but i don't think that this is called love. It goes against all feminists. I really dislike weak-willed female leads (for a great example, it's Kurumi over there) and the fact that she'd cry and go oh so sad and always think it's her fault. Painful. And why, oh why, did she return to Hakuron? Huh? What kinda love is this? S&M whaa?

I won't deny it, i cried when Hakuron died. (I skipped to the end). But looking back on it,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
i think he deserved to die.
So there. smile Assholes like these should be wiped off the face of the earth. Oh, Shinjo Mayu too. Oh and as someone below mentioned...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Hakuron is definitely impotent. LOL when you f**k someone so much there's supposed to be a pretty big chance of getting her pregnant.

Lastly, this manga went on for 9 volumes!! I assume that the number of volumes/chapters is determined by the popularity of the manga [seeing stuff like [m]One Piece[/m]] What is up with the demented mind of the JAPANESE GIRLS reading this? What the heck? It's 50 bloody chapters!! Spare me. My god, are you guys so desperate? Why do you have to do this??

P.S. The comment below sure cracked me up biggrin

I gave this a 10 for all the entertainment it brought to me XD

Unlike those who found this manga utterly bad and dropped halfway, I read it till the end. I knew it's crap from day 1 but I have a habit of reading both epic manga and crappy ones. I read crappy ones for good laugh XD . Seriously, this series cracks me up to no end.

I couldn't get why some say this was Shinjo Mayu's worst work since to me, ALL OF HER WORKS ARE TRASH. They're all the same with the main girl who loves to be raped by her bastard boyfriend. Shinjo Mayu is messed up in the head. Who would fall in love with her rapist in reality? The way she portrays her protagonist is an insult to all women. What's with all those whiny, weak girls desperately waiting to be raped by their supposedly gorgeous boyfriends (while in fact, these guys are just abusive, twisted guys). And sorry but I can't even sympathize with Kurumi. I honestly think she's like a slut here. After she thinks she's dumped by Hakuron, she seeks comfort from Fuuron by sleeping with him? How shallow can she get? Don't even get me started on Hakuron. I guess there will be paranoid girls who think the way he treats her is totally romantic but no, it's downright disgusting. He rapes her over and over again. He humiliates her in front of lots of people. What kind of love is this?

The only one I like in this series is Foiron. I feel sad for him since he falls in love with an unworthy girl. I can't understand why there're many guys who love her: Foiron, Fuuron (yes people, it's implied that this guy does love her) and that kid who kills Hakuron (bravo!). The ending is supposed to be sad and touching but I was like this when I read it: =)) =)) =)). What a stupid ending. I guess after all that happens, Kurumi will hook up with all of the Dragons since they all kinda love/lust for her. That or we could have Haou Airen 2,3,4,5, each for 1 Dragon and they'll repeat the same crap over and over again.

Anyways, recommend for anyone who wants a good laugh at an unbelievably ridiculous manga <3

i personally love this story even though i got a bit sad when Hakuron had to use rape to be able to have Kurini
i personally didn't like Kurimi because she couldn't understand why Hakuron killed her "friend" in the first place. She was going to have her raped and all that and she wanted to die because Hakuron didn't love her. Kurumi is just to tolerent and haves a kind heart she even said sorry to Lei Lan and she was getting two boys to rape her.
But I loved this story and is one of my favorites even though the ending made me cry
PS: pretty ironic how those boys didn't rape her but Kakuron taped that ass when they got home ; )

I really tried to like this, I really did. But for the life of me I can't comprehend why she won't just get a gun and stick a bullet(s) through his head. Harsh? Umm...no if you recall how many times he raped her under the name of "love" -_- I did many studies on mafia/yakuza groups and the wife/lovers taken in and believe me, the manner Kurumi displays over Hakuron is NOT normal. There shouldn't be forgiveness nor fawning after being treated that way. In addition, someone must be sterile because the number of times he raped her, yet didn't get pregnant is beyond me. Yes, this is fictional but this type of behaviour shouldnt be taken lightly.

I managed to stagger out of this unscathed, but barely.
It gets a 2 as opposed to 1 because I do like mafia genres, just not this one.
