While i do agree this should not be catergorized as shoujo its more josei all other negative comments are haters. The art is beautiful and the smut better than ive ever seen. but the ending is quite sad and its to heavy for light hearted manga readers but the plot was perfected at parts i was angry why wont he just say he loves her but overall it was a great and one of my favorite mangas

GREAT ART. the covers were great. Hakuron is very charismatic.
Mayu Shinjo's artwork was hot and dark in this manga.

Ok, the first few volumes were great until RiRin's character came.
I wish there could be more scene with the Tiger organization (Hakuron's rival), and I wish I could see more relationship among the 5 dragons.

What the heck for creating painful emotion to the readers

Ok, first RiRin comes to break the 'love' couple apart, and then KaFei just comes in between them and it ends like that Actually Hakuron is kind and could start a new life with Kurumi. Kafei is merely an insignificant character but plays an important role in the ending. What does he get by killing Hakuron? He destroyed Kurumi's happiness, also, he doesn't even take care of her after that. So what's the point of killing Hakuron? KaFei is just a selfish character for taking revenge.

Well, it's just a manga made from the mangaka's imagination.

Haou Airen has its nice heart felt moments, then its annoying moments then its "OMG thats going over the line" moments.... overall i liked-ish this manga. The smut was abit much but then again Mayu Shinjo is the queen of such things. Plot/s was impressively put together considering that they were VERY complex through my prespective. The ending was ...........undescribable. I ACTUALLY CRIED! ( I mean someone was bound to be outside and call for help but oh my gosh!) I CRIED!!!! DId i mention that the dude loves the girl sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that he would rapage her..yer pretty insane abit like 100% perfect girl (< A HIGHLY RECOMMEND MANGA) - i do reccomended this manga but DEFINTELY NOT TO THE LIGHT- HEARTED! oh yer did i mention the art is OMG WOWOWOWOWOOWOWOOWOOW ....

This manga started off interestingly enough, but it quickly went downhill. I read through ch 28 and had to stop when Hakuron saves her only to give her away. Ugh.

Granted, I tried to give Hakuron some slack since he's mafia and violence and control is his MO. However, watching Kurumi descend into classic abuse symptoms was depressing. Check out WebMD.com for info on why victims stay with abusers, and you'll quickly realize that Kurumi isn't thinking she deserves to be raped just because she is weak. This is what abuse does even to strong women who are abused repeatedly. It's sad, and it's sick.

Having read the spoilers about the ending...

I gave it a 3 because it started off decent and because Shinjo Mayu captures the reality of abuse fairly well.

He really loves her. But the ending made me cry :'( why she should've went to the doctor right a way or he should've had people protecting the out side of the church why :'( Oooooooo why isn't she bearing his child :$ strange

at first few volume, it's a good manga..

until:

it lost my interest, but I cant stop read it coz I already had a high expectation of it..
maybe it would end up good, maybe the story line would be more interesting, I should not hear my heart and dropped it, coz

I'm so dissapointed, and regret, why i didnt dropped it right away that time? now I feel chaotic, love Hakuron's character too much T_____T

Kurumi is dumb (happy to neglect her family, who are btw in need of help! And don't tell me just because Hakuron got someone to 'look after' them is the same as your daughter/sister being there!). Any person that can give up their family because of some stranger (don't care how hot he is), he/she can't be that great! Then there is this fact that irked me - does everyone speak Japanese in HK or does Kurumi speaks Cantonese now? Shinjo Mayu doesn't even bother to explain this! Also, the drawing of the characters pisses me off - they are too child-like! Manga that have sex scenes should not have characters that looks like some 5yo, it just WRONG!

Love is about making mistakes, sure... But it's not about raping the one you love. He didn't even wait till she got over her friend's death. He raped her. Because he couldn't live without her? Because he loved her so much he couldn't imagine going on without her? Love isn't about hurting the one you love on purpose. It is about doing things to make them stay with you, but not that. I can't say that this isn't love, neither can I say that it is love... More like a twisted love with a side of more twisted. =_=;

This sort of love... just makes one feel depressed and it isn't good at all. I recommend not reading this series... It's probably the worst of Shinju Mayu's...

Im kinda getting used to female leads being useless in mangas, but the girl in this one just got on my nerves. yes, i know, the male lead is the one who raped her, gave her to is guard blablabla and so on. but i kinda expected that from a guy who had never felt anything for a babe before. he wouldnt know how to react so he acted the stupid he did. but the girl, is beyond question. if any character should be awful is the female lead herself, yes, she loves him so she stayed with him blabla.. but what about her SICK mother and her YOUNGER siblings? she stayed in hong kong, even after all the rape and only questions about her family once in a small while. pathetic? yes it is.

as for the ending, i would have wanted it to end abit much sweeter not to make up for the awful main characters but for the sake of the story itself, i would have imagine, him dying, yes.. thn the female lead ended up with a child. esp after all those sex.. atleast something can lighten up this story.but i think yea, the mangaka was abit lost writing the ending. oh well.

I think this manga was OK. But I got tired of all the rape scenes. I hated how Hakuron treated her, I mean that's not how you treat your beloved one. And there was something which didn't make any sense, that was that everyone was interested in Kurumi (this wasn't a harem by the way... Right?) Because she had at least more than three people including Hakuron who were in love in her or just interested in her. And some scenes in this manga was so frustrating. Like how much misunderstanding it was in it. I liked the art, especially their eyes, and especially the bishounen. But that's it. Actually Kurumi wasn't that pretty neither.
