Disgusting, pathetic excuse for a manga. completely static characters (no character development), a girl who lets herself get pushed around by a bunch of jerks and then proceeds to date one of them! WTF? nonsensical and disturbing.

i didn't like this story, but it was well done. it's not impossible that things like this happen and it's not unlikely for relationships to turn out this way. i just- didn't like it. i remember reading each chapter, thinking, "okay, better yourself this time. please." but no one ever does. except the little sister.

the lead and her love interest are in such a dysfunctional love. though, i wasn't exactly rooting for any of the males to end up with her.

she never gains any real strength of character. i mean, how depressing is that?

i didnt like ryoki or hatsumi.ryoki was a total JERK and hatsumi was just plain STUPID i mean why would you let a guy like dat take advantage of you and i felt really bad for shinogu.

No wonder this manga is rated mature ...there was this part all about sex and an actual SCENE on it ... it was kind of odd.... since this manga is SHOJO .. . right? isnt it supposed to be more like.... not that mature? if this was supposed to be like that then i think the category JOSEI would be waaaaay better...
but then again this was just my personal opinion...

I find this manga's appeal is like a trainwreck, you can't look away. Everyone is completely disfunctional, and that's what makes it enteraining. Look if this was real life, we'd be calling CPS and the cops, but since it's only a manga it's ok to rubberneck. Hot Gimmick was fun and I liked it.

I really had high hopes for this manga. The characters were different from the cliches you see nowadays, it was enjoyable to read, and I thought this could be something deep. Sadly my hopes were crushed. The plot is incomprehensible as Desire Climax, which is really bad to be compared to. Though unlike Desire Climax, the characters, especially Ryoki were different from the typical prince stuff you see in shoujo these days. HOWEVER, the characters (especially Ryoki) had NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I loved Ryoki in the beginning, since he could have been a GREAT character to move the plot and make it more interesting. Sadly, they focused on this other crap that I didn't even give a damn about. The other two guys just caused more drama, while Ryoki stayed as an arrogant jerk, which really didn't make him a likable character anymore (though he did actually do things that had some benefits). There were some themes that I saw were prominent, though they weren't focused on and was overshadowed by all the drama. This could have been a really good manga, it just fell apart and turned into a horrible soap opera.

P.S. The ending would've been good if everything that happened before it was better.

I really enjoyed this and don't usually enjoy this type of Manga. I grabbed it because I had just finished the latest volume of Nana and needed something a little bit lighter in feeling. It is a little lighter but it wasn't fluff like I thought it might be. I really enjoyed the story and the ending, I thought it was a pretty good ending. I was a bit annoyed with the main character's weakness but the story wouldn't be the same other wise. I started reading Honey Hunt and really enjoyed it so I would suggest if you liked this, you'd like Honey Hunt too.

I almost finished Volume 1 from the library and WAS hoping to buy the new VizBig edition, but from what I'm reading in the manga AND on the comments page here, it doesn't seem like a worthy endeavor anymore.

I can understand shy heroines, but their main goal in manga should be to develop into a stronger character than how she was in the beginning. My understanding of Hatsumi is she accepts crap from people ALL the time until the very end? I simply cannot read about a character who will not develop into something more. I understand she's shy, but she should at some point try to change her situation.

I dunno, maybe I'll read the volumes from the library, but I'll definitely keep my money for something else.

The fact that anyone actually reads/buys this manga worries me. It's serriously the most socially backward depiction of a young woman I have seen for a long time. That the mangaka can put the pathetically weak main character, Hatsumi, into all these awful situations in the name of entertainment is, to be plain, disgusting. Hatsumi is submissive to the point that if someone told her to jump, she probably would. She gets blackmailed, almost raped, generally mistreated by every guy in the manga - and she never retaliates. And the worst part is, she happens to LIKE one of these bastards who treat her like sh*t. I mean, come on girls, how can you stomach this stuff? I find it just plain sickening. The most worrying thing is that it even got published in the first place. It shows Japanese society still has a long way to go before attitudes towards women change.

Even ignoring this MAJOR flaw, the manga is still pretty bad. I know it's shoujo, but this is just melodrama overload. It's like a very very bad soap opera. Actually, the ending made me laugh out loud (which I don't think the mangaka intended).

The ONLY redeeming features of this manga (and no way are they anywhere near outweighing the bad points) is the Subaru/Akane sidestory. There's no domestic abuse there and it's quite sweet. I'm also quite loving the art.

I finished reading the first volume and could not continue!!! My god what the hell was wrong with Hatsumi Some people say that there are women out there with her personality, but if I actually met one of those people I would SLAP HER SOME SENSE. Who the hell forgets to asks to stop doing the slave duties? Who the hell would actually listen? And who the hell would do sexual favors just to cover up your sister's FAKE SECRET?? This is was the first manga I never finished and hated so much in the beginning. Please do not read if you ALSO CANNOT TOLERATE a total jerk who plays slave master relationship to a spineless twit of a main character!!!!
