Alot of yaoi I've read tend to overdo the sex scenes, drama, and the story seems cheesy.

I'm looking for something like Mirai no Kioku and Kaze no Yukue. If you have read them that would be great.

Something where the story is more slice of life, there is no overbearing seme, and the uke is actually a believable man. He might even be slightly perverted. Anything is preferable to the most commonly used type of ukes. (tsunderes, weak blushing virgin boy, dense idiot who walks into traps and gets raped- I want none of that.)

In other words I dont want anything where the characters fit the whole giant possessive lusty seme and weak virgin blushing uke cliche. (ex: Okane ga nai *cringe*) I'll admit I used to like them. Now I'm tired of it though.

In short: Something more laid back and believable without annoying characters. If the uke is the more assertive one that is a plus since it isnt done often enough.

Thx in advance. shy

I've read alot of Yoshinaga Fumi's works. I really like them. I havent read much from Yamada Yugi so I'll look her/him up.

Kimi ga Iru Basho, Kyoushi mo Iroiro Aruwakede, Tsuki to Sandal sound like something I might like so I'll check em out. I've read Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito and Tenki Yohou no Koibito and I liked those.

Thanks alot. Seems to be what I was looking for. wink

Hello..nice to see someone who share the anti girly uke tastes ^^

I second Yamada Yugi suggestion.I have read only one story but her ukes seem to be along those lines..strong enough and actually a man..

Also try The cornered mouse dreams of cheese, from Mizushiro Setona and its sequel...best yaoi ever from my point of view. I haven't found anything like this one..maybe Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito goes along these lines with the way it is written..but this one is better, it is more like a josei.

Suzuki Tsuta's works focus more in the characters than in the sex..she has lots of stories out of stereotypes..I really like, besides Sangen, Akanai Tobira, Hand Which and Boku no Shiru Anata no Hanashi..If you like her works you should try also Yoneda Kou, Don't stay gold is pretty good for a one-shot.

Miyamoto Kano seems to fit also your laid-back tastes..these are more realistic stories..I only have read Rules and it was ok.
Most of the stories of Kawai Touko focus more in the romance and the problems of the character than the sex..I especially love CUT

Natsume Isaku's mangas..these ones lean towards comedy, but they also feel really light, like a slice of life almost.

I have lots more recs with manly ukes..so ask me if you like those ^^

I agree on Kawai Touko.

Café Latte Rhapsody, Ano Kado wo Magatta Tokoro and Loveholic are laid back. Her art is not the best but at least acceptable to me, esp. more recent works. Kurumi no Naka is worth a mention too.

I would recommend: Koi no Iro, Cafe Relish ni Oide (my personal favorite) and the same author's Renai Shinan!

I guess you are not in the mood for drama but Running on Empty is good.

Try I Don’t Dislike You, and maybe also the story it was adapted from I want to be naughty. They're fun. =)

Thanks again everyone, especially queen2408. So many choices to pick. :3 Running on empty, Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yumewomiru, and Dont stay gold seem very interesting. I'll look up the others as well though.
