Looking for a romance between a law-keeper and a law-breaker. Doesn't have to be strictly "thief" and "cop," could be a murderer and a government lawyer or a detective and an illegal prostitute or a medieval pickpocket and the kingdom's knight... Lol. Basically any couple in which one is protecting the law/peace and the other is destroying it.

Even a "priest" or "nun" would be okay on the law-keeping side, in the sense that they are supposed to be defending the peace in another way, through morals etc, and should actually be trying to stop crimes/immorality, but instead they fall for someone immoral who is on the wrong side of the law.

Oh and I'm not just looking for a one-time criminal or something... Like, a kid that gets caught shop-lifting just once and falls for the lovely cop that catches him and reforms himself. Nope! I'm looking for a career criminal, someone that regularly commits crimes and isn't easily reformed (if at all).

Similarly I'm looking for a law-keeper/protector who does this specifically for a living, like it's their job and their responsibility, their way of life. That's why it's so shocking/interesting when they get into a relationship with someone breaking the very laws that they are bound to protect.

Any genre is okay, but I honestly favor shoujo/josei or BL.

Examples...

MW - priest/serial killer.
Honto Yajuu - yakuza/cop.
Thief and Detective - what it says.
If it's for you, no matter how far... - also thief/detective.
Madness - yet another priest/mass murderer romance.
Missing Code - art thief/(spoiler).
From Eroica With Love - art thief/NATO agent. One-sided, but still...
God of Dogs - a bit unclear, but at least one of the cops is involved with a juvenile delinquent who is now doing jail time.

Thanks to anyone that helps. smile

I second Cat's Eye. It's an art thief and cop romance. It's shounen though. I read it years ago and liked it.

Stories 2-4 in Morotomo by Nishida Higashi. Compared to other mangaka, her artwork is minimal (but still serves its purpose), I really love her storytelling and characters smile

S (Novel) by Aida Saki (I absolutely love the drama cd smile wink grin )

I second Sanctuary, but the focus is more on the rest of the story than the romance. plus it's seinen.

One other I can think of is Sun-ken rock. It's seinen, but it is quite entertaining for the first chapter. Don't know how the romance will develop though.

I second tokyo crazy paradise Its one of the few mangas I've read more than once. (once I read something I can pretty much recall everything that happened no matter how long ago I read it). Its got great humor and kickassery action.

sanctuary is good too, but I wouldn't reccommend reading the whole thing through in one sitting, unless you get really into it. I read it in chunks. Theres a lot of politics in it.

:3~

BL:
Corsair
Crystal Harem
Sono Toki Heart wa Nusumareta
Zenmon no Tora Koumon no Okami
Mezase Hero! A favorite of mine. But that type of setting takes place in the second volume, more or less.
Deep Black If you liked Missing Code, this is basically the same kind of plotline, but this one is more interesting!

Shoujo
Wanted Doctor/Law-breaker?
Mayonaka no Jewel Girl isn't really a cop, but she does try to stop him as if she were one. roll

There's more shoujo/joseis with this kind of plot, I just can't remeber them atm. Will get back to it once I do~

Superior - the guy is a good warrior and the girl is the queen of demons, she turns good gradually, but never a saint, so don't worry

I also second Tokyo crazy paradise, it's my fav shoujo, I read it at least 7 times dead, and I still can't get enough of it.
