great names like one piece, bleach and naruto are common to anime/manga fans. Even for those who dont really involve themselve with mangas.

i myself only read one piece and bleach atm. naruto kinda sucks and i cant get into any other shounen manga. they are just boring and uninteresting.

if those three mangas ended, than there arent any mangas out there right now which could take their place imo

my questions are:

1. i dont know if you share my opinion but if you do,
why do you think cant mangakas create another one piece, naruto or bleach?

as for naruto and one piece, both had a really slow start and it needed long to get this interesting.
i think the readers just dont give the mangas with a slow start a chance anymore and so they get dropped.
thats why great potential mangas cant be created anymore

fairy tail was a good try i think and it got this far because the start wasnt slow but as it went on i lost interest.

2.i know this is not the looking for thread but are there any mangas comparable mangas to bleach etc out there right now? or are there any new series which look like they are going to get popular and run serveral years?

thats all biggrin

right now I feel that fairy tail is on it's way to be a popular one. Probably gonna be over 50 volumes long and hundreds of episodes. though that's the only one i can think of

is this you getting old and start thinking that what you grew up with is better than everything else?

if you go back some years
who would have thought that anything could ever compare to
dragonball
and
hokuto no ken

thats probably right. so i should hope the top series will just go on for several years or the authors produce something new to top them, before my interest just burns out.

if you look back at any dragonball episode... it was actually really bad ^^ but at that time the best

WHY would someone bother making ANOTHER One Piece, Naruto, or Bleach... when they ALREADY EXIST. Just because it isn't popular doesn't make it GOOD. Twilight is popular but its honestly made for the garbage can. (I've read all 4 volumes) There is always something better being started and just because you are too lazy to go looking for it, I'm sorry but I have no sympathy for you.

And just because it's slow to build up, is that really the only thing that makes it good?
roll eyes I won't go there cause that's your opinion. But don't go around acting like its a fact that nothing will ever be better the Bleach, One Piece, or Naruto; cause I know plenty.

I know these mangas are famous, but that doesn't make them great or good. One day they'll all finish and some other mangas will take their place as the most popular. As far as those three goes, they are far from being the best in my book. There are tons of better mangas out there and I implore you to try some of them.

I don't think that manga with the potienal to be the next One Piece, Naruto or Bleach can't be created anymore, I just think it takes a mangaka who's prepared to take a chance with a plot that's way-out and different to have a go. It can't be meditated which mangas are going to be hugely popular. They can't be calculated (note that I am thinking of that scene in Bakuman where the editor dude is talking to them about popularity)
Currenlt I haven't seen any mangas that have a good enough plot/base setting to go on for as long as Naruto, Bleach and One Piece (except maybe Fairy Tale - although I stopped reading that early on). Gamaran and Beezlebub are too which are/were popular but their plots have a definate end point and if they pass them it'll just get repetitive (spelling?) unless they start to work on a bigger plot.
I do agree that most mangas start of too quickly, but I think that's just the nature of the manga industry?

I disagree with this.

For start, OP and Bleach are far from the 'best' shounen series ever written.

I don't believe readers have become dumber and unwilling to read a new, promising series with a slow start.

After those series pass, more will come to take their places, but I see no reason why the quality would plummet.

Don't these statements contradict each other confused
Saying that other people should give slower series a start, while claiming that you were only interested in a series that was quick in the beginning.

There new good manga being released all the time. I think you should look into other manga then shounen jump there alot of good manga out there. If ur talking about mainstream fighting shounen I havn't seen any released in a while but I enjoy HSDK way more then naruto and bleach.

I think ur just generlizing whats popular then what has potential.

There are lots of other shounens just as good that just hasn't achieved the same fame.

Imo they're not great anyway, the mangaka just makes up boy adventures containing much too long fight scenes starring the "I like to eat! LET'S TRAIN! I Love my friends!" protagonist until shounen jump decides they can't squeeze any more money out of it and tells the mangaka to write an ending in the next 3 chapters.

I can bare Naruto though, It's getting kind of drawn out but it doesn't give 150 chapters of fighting to every plot sequence like others. *cough*Bleach*cough* I acctualy counted, it took over 100 chapters just going into the shinigami place and out again, a couple of those chapters were rescuing ruika and the rest was just fighting random characters. (and now they're on another "go save the girl" quest).

Aside from the bashing, there are other good shounens out there like Fairy Tail MixiM HunterxHunter

They're all shitty bundles of long fighting scenes like any other shounen imo. but if you like other shounens you should try them out.

It strikes me as if you've enshrined Bleach, One Piece and Naruto and are eternally worshiping it which doesn't allow you to appreciate others. There are tons of better manga out there, shounen titles that are NOT serialised in shounen jump but they are just as good or even better.

And if you get bored of that kind of shounen, then as a woman, I encourage adventure josei or shoujo-type shounen (eg. G-Fantasy). There are millions of available titles out there, only if you'd bother to read them.

ATM Naruto, Bleach and One Piece are very popullair series.... But before them, there where other populair series en after them there will be other again. That just the way it works.

As for good shounen....
Well, in my opinion Bakuman has potential as a weekly series.
Same goes for Fairy Tail and The World God Only Knows.
And Ao no Exorcist is a good monthly shounen...
So you see, there are good manga out there biggrin

Shounenmanga is focused on shounen. That means boys. If you are reading manga for a public from... 12-16? years you simply cannot expect masterpieces.
I never started reading One Piece because I didn't like the drawings, and I never started Naruto because the first chapters pissed me off.
However, I can say something about Bleach.

Bleach became also boring and uninteresting because, right now the manga drags on and on. And ever since the 'save Rukia from Soul Society' arc ended, it is just more of the same..
Here's a bit of dialogue that can be pasted in almost every fighting scene:
person 1: "Look at me, I'm so strong!"
person 2: "Nooo, I'm cut into pieces, I'll die..."
person 3: "I have healing powers; so I'll fix you up"
person 1: He doesn't do follow up because every character in Bleach is a lousy killer.
person 2: By now he is miraculously saved by person 3.
person 1: >>Gets cut by person 2<<
person 2: "Mwahahaha, look at the trick I had hidden up my sleeve!"

The worst part is, this kind of dialogue can be cut and pasted after each other. With Aizen; this happened 3 or 4 times already? Chapter 417 for instance. If Ichigo chopped Aizen's head off right there and then - it would have been over. The super humongous danger would be gone. When Ichigo jerked him far away from his friends he destroyed the surprise element which could have made him win. I mean: which idiot would do such a thing?
This could be entertaining, but not when the same situation is done over and over again, with different fights. I don't know what Tite Kubo's editor is thinking for agreeing to publish such crap!

In other words; If you want to read something decent, try seinen for a change. Read: Parasyte. Akumetsu. Gantz. Elfen Lied. Eternal Sabbath. Wolf Guy. Variante.

Why mangaka's can't create another One Piece, Naruto or Bleach?
1) Because they are too ashamed to do so.
2) Because they honestly cannot believe such retarded storyline would actually sell so well.

But if you want to read typical shounen try the other manga's once published by shounenjump. Or the ones they are publishing now. Swot. Beelzebub. Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!
Or some older ones: Claymore. Dragon Ball.. Yu Yu Hakusho.
Oh; and one manga I would really recommend. Not from shounenjump, but definitely shounen: Fullmetal Alchemist. If you look at it story wise it is written like a decent fantasy. This is the one shounen I might call awesome.

I Believe I answered that question above.
Have fun reading!
