Hey, this time around, I'm looking for a romance josei or shoujo manga where the female protagonist falls for a male who is like a loser or a pervert. No, I don't want a manga with the female protagonist falling in love with the typical bishie-but-perverse male. I don't mean that kind of sex-craved-playboy. That's why it's leaning more towards the 'loser' character than 'pervert' but perverts equal to losers in my book anyway. Yeah, so I want a manga with a female lead that falls for a guy who usually stars in shounen romance manga/anime these days. You know what I'm talking about, those perverse male leads who shouldn't have harems. *wink wink* roll

To summarize it all:
- Manga with a female lead, a female's perspective.
- Obviously, should have romance. Preferably, signs of them both having a relationship.
- Should and ought to be josei or shoujo but feel free to recommend shounen or seinen titles.
- No BL, GL, yuri, yaoi, etc please.

Just to make my self clear on my definition of loser/love interest's attributes:
Does it hurt for the male to be good-looking or just a little bit? Preferably, he should have that 'loser' personality/character but good-looking. When I say loser, it's probably around the perverse kind but well, he shouldn't have females falling for him.

Feel free to browse through my lists and re-suggest some titles because I usually end up dropping loads of series and your suggestion might just help me pick them up again. Sorry if this is/was a repeat topic but if there are similar topics, please do post a link. Links to categories are much appreciated too. Thank you! biggrin

Edit: (From a later post)Oh God, no harems please. And here are some examples:
Samurai High School There are hints of the female lead falling for the perverse guy who lives in the same room as her in the dorm. (It's gender-bender.) The guy is arrogant and he looks down on people. He has a horrible personality but the female lead kinda likes him(from what I see).

Meteor Methuselah Not the main leads but the side-characters. Eury and Ayla for example. Eury is a womanizer and cheats on his women but Ayla falls for him.

So the male lead I'm looking for has to have a horrible personality or somewhat.

It's not shoujo or jousei, but seinen. Nana to Kaoru really seems to fit your request, and because it does, it is exactly my reason for being unable to read through at least two chapters of the manga. I'm not into that kind of romance, no offense, but it's just not my cup of tea. It seems to have done well though here on MU, so you may like it. biggrin

I second <m>Nana to Kaoru</m> - it's exactly what you're describing. I think the dynamic of their relationship is quite good. I'm sure you'd find it interesting smile

I dont agree with B Gata H Kei
i dont see him as a loser in anyway
he is just an average looking male thats his only downside...being unsure of himself is not the same as being a loser

Nana to Kaoru is just sexual perversion
there is no real meaning or depth to any of it so its just Hentai

but if nana to kaoru is ok i guess aki sora is too
female gets horney...fucks her little brother[that is a loser] over and over and over

i dont read that many shoujo and or josei so...i dont know

Sorry but Aki-Sora si nowhere near to Nana to Kaoru. Aki-Sora is just hentai, that's right, but Nana to Kaoru has a plot, is interesting and only boderline H, not really hentai.

So I third Nana to Kaoru - it's really good biggrin

My Hero!
Closest thing I could find. He's not a loser or anything (in fact, I find him adorable) but he's definitely not the typical bishie either.

Thanks for the suggestions but...oh God, I have tried to read Nana to Kaoru but it was just...not my cup of tea too. I've watched B Gata H Kei and that's probably what I was looking for even though he wasn't a loser. I think what I'm really looking for is a shoujo or josei with a female lead who falls for not the typical bishounen or shounen. Like, the type of guy that girls don't usually fall for.

I haven't read the other suggestions but I'll give them a try. Though I don't really like H or borderline H, I can still stomach that. I'll probably end up reading H titles anyway since I'm getting bored.

Edit: Oh God, no harems please. And here are some examples:
Samurai High School There are hints of the female lead falling for the perverse guy who lives in the same room as her in the dorm. (It's gender-bender.) The guy is arrogant and he looks down on people. He has a horrible personality but the female lead kinda likes him(from what I see).

Sorry... my suggestion isn't going to fit your criteria to a T... but you can try Sakuranbo Syndrome. Granted, it's in the male's POV (and it's seinen), but he's not that special. I think that the story is interesting as the volumes keep coming. There's a little bit of ecchi in the first volume, but after that, it's not so blatant.

Edit -- Thinking back, this may have a male main lead, but in later volumes, the females get chunks of screen time too. I dunno... just try it. The man's definitely not a bishie / not a chick-magnet...

Ichigo 100% highly recommended. If you want ecchi and harem.
Rappi Rangai it's good to.
Freezing also may fit. though the male protagonist is reliable in later part.
