So I'm looking for a good shoujo or josei smut (hope that's not an oxymoron). I want something that's basically the opposite of Shinjo Mayu's works. Something where the girl isn't weak and/or stupid and the guy isn't a complete rapey jerk. Also must have hot (extra spicy) smex scenes. I can't stand it when there's only one hot scene in the whole manga and it barely shows anything happening.

Maybe Ikenai Candy Love and Hitomi de Watashi wo Tsukamaete. They're all one-shots, but I think it fits with what you're looking for. If you like them, check out more things from the authoress Nagae Tomomi.

You might want to try Borderline H. Borderline H is so ecchi its almost hentai. Seinen etc that are borderline H have scenes that are very smutty and the heroines are usually more the non-weak type.

Anything by AMAZUME Ryuta is rather erotic with strong female characters.

@spriggan85 I loved Kimi wa Pet but I wouldn't consider that smut. Midnight Secretary is one of my favs and that's the kind of manga I want to read more of.

@darknova42 I usually stay away from borderline H cause I feel like ecchi manga kind of objectifies women, even the strong ones, but if someone can recommend some good ones I'd give it a try

You could try

Gold (Fujita Kazuko) nice manga with nice twist, girl is trying to be strong... and a couple that's really likable, I root for them xD
Silver (Fujita Kazuko) another one by Fujita Kazuko, also nice, not tagged smut, but it gets smutty towards the end (there it bothered me a little, but maybe it is what you're looking for) If you can survive the first (just guessing... 20?) chapters, with the horribly naive heroine you will find a good read here

You know Yoshihara Yuki? Her couples often have a good-looking guy and a perverted female... personally I dislike her sense of humour and her female leads, but at least they are not weak and like "OMG I can't resist him! I can't get away from him! And even though he has been so mean, I can't help but love him!" And the guys are mostly nice (nicer than the females). and not too much smut here... i haven't read too much of her though...

And I forgot Stroke Material but it's strange. He is exactly the type of guy you don't like (the rapey jerk). But he gets interested in that cold girl and she just doesn't respond. Then somehow he becomes desperate and turns into someone who'd do everything to please her. It's kind of funny though...

Jesus, I think I found myself a sister . Completely agree with you on Shinjo Mayu and ecchi, it offends me how they treat women. From the same reason I don't like hentai, so it's very difficult to find something really good. You should try Nana to Kaoru. It's not really smut, it is a bit ecchi and there's no sex at all (in the common sense of term), but oh my, it's erotic from the beginning 'till the end and kept me warmed up more than any regular smut. On the surface, it might look that there's no story at all - two high school kids that would never have met in the same universe given the normal circumstances, engage in a strange S&M relationship. But the author of this manga understands the real essence of S&M: that it's not about the pain or domination/submission crap, but something far more demanding, far, far more daring and... Well, if I told you, I'd spoil the sensation . Oh yes, the series is not completed, but after you have read it, you should read Nana to Kaoru - the black label. Trust me on that one.

i've read a lot of her works and yeah, the humor's odd but, the female leads are usually so very perverted and are definitely the dominant ones in relationships. The art's a little funny, especially the chibis, but I personally found it more amusing than distracting. I suggest Darling wa Namamono ni Tsuki first before trying her other stuff, i personally like that one the best. They're a married couple.
