I have lots of things that are quite rare and hard to find.

Weak to strong manga: there are a lot of weak to strong manga but none like the breaker where he was bullied and was completely weak (though his strength gain was a bit cheap, a medical dumpling, really?!) I could still appreciate this manga. I think I've read all mangas any where near similar to this type of manga. there are also none for where a girl goes from weak to strong as far as I've seen

Survival: I think I've read about 7 mangas that fit the type of survival manga I like [H.O.T.D./m], [alive/m], [Edin no ori/m], and a few others.

Awesome teamwork, I think the only place I saw great teamwork is in eden no ori and highschool of the dead

This is just to name a few, there are so many I block out because I know I'll never find "it" again in anothe manga. dead

So, what rare things do you like that are hard to find? confused

I am so picky when it comes for chhosing manga to read .. i usually read manga with shoujo/josie genre beside some seinen,as long as there is romance.but it really annoys me those love stories that are nott realistic beside they are filled with cliche and tipical events .also in manga with love triangles, in most cases , the girl ends up with the obviouse guy .more over when the manga contains rape the girl which gets raped by a hot and wilthy guy ends up falling for him instead of hating him !!!!!! how could this be possible !!! comeon RAPE is NOT that SIMPLE !!!!
but thank GOD there are still some rare manga that are still realistic and have some sense such as : cat street , cappuccino , bitter virgin ,
by the way i cant not recall all the manga iv read till kow. i cant even count there number but those are the good titles that i can recall right know...but im sure there are some more good titles

I think its hard to find PURE romance these days. Every love manga seems to have a Love Triangle =( or characters breaking up. Apparently its "boring" for couples to fall in love and stick together till the very end.

Its quite disappointing, considering that in real life there isnt a bishie love interest around the corner.

For harem manga, I think male leads like Keima from TWGOK is rare. Usually the male lead in this kind of manga is clumsy, perverted guy. The only good thing is he's so kind so the women would fallen for him. Keima is indifferent towards girls, he only loves 2D girls biggrin heck, till now I can't read who will he ends up with.

In shoujo, usually this kind of story pisses me off: the main heroine is loved by all boys (all of them are bishies, what the...), despite being plain, weak, naive, crybaby, and has no talent (okay, it's harsh, but really, being weak will make you loved by every guys you meet? you must be kidding!). It's like she is the only girl in the world.
I'd like to see, if the girl loved by many boys, she has to have some talent, like a charisma that drawn others to her. It's not clumsiness nor naivety, but rather, a strong heart. Kind like Yuri from Red River, or Sarasa from Basara. Well, maybe it's not really rare, though. But recently the shoujo I read have weak leads, like jessica 16 mentioned above... and they really bore me.

I think it gets harder and harder to find mangas WITHOUT fanservice. I mean its kinda annyoing to see every good manga "polluted" by stupid stuff that doesn't improve plot/atmosphere, I realize there are occasions where it could be benefitting, but come on at least try romance without an overflow of ecchi and stuff...

I dunno if it's really that hard to find, but something I definitely haven't seen a lot of is manga with a pet in it that is normal (ie: not a talking one or anything like that) who is featured regularly.

Any work of fiction (not just manga / anime) without a romantic relationship as THE most important emotional connection in the main character's life is almost impossible to find.
As someone who is fast tiring of love stories, I find this rather daunting. Heck, even Matsumoto Taiyou and Araki Hirohiko are writing romances (of a sort) these days!

Nah, I mean the pet is more of a supporting character role who appears in every few chapters. Not a main focus.

i would like to read manga about weird sports/activities
like
Go like Hikaru no Go
Shougi 81 Diver is very entertaining...more like this
Chess that is actually the main thing
Mahjong like in Saki
or why not
fighting games if they take a real game like SF3:3[best game ever made?YES!] and just follow a person starting out and how he/she develop

were the thing in itself is actually kind of boring[for persons that dont play these "sports"] but we follow a passionate person/s journey

i would like it if they start out as total n00bs and we get to follow their way into the "pros"

i would love it if hotta yumi made a long series about Kaga from Hikaru no Go and his life as a shougi pro

I would like to read a harem manga that makes sense of the harem. The only manga that I've read like this areTWGOK and Sekirei.
Just like purplebunny101 I would like to read a weak to strong manga kinda like HSDK.

Well, mostly, sense. That might be because of the mangas I like to read, though.

A shounen series that starts of with an excellent premise and doesn't break down into nonsensical repeated powering up of characters and fights.

I can't really enjoy Naruto or Bleach much anymore. One Piece is still good so far, but Oda really knows how to keep it interesting.

The powering up/fighting thing only really works for Dragon Ball, so its been done already.

Also, I wish there were more characters like Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. He's generally the silent protagonist type, but usually speaks when he either has something profound to say, or to express his emotions.

These days I am enjoying more of the slice of life type stuff, or lighter type stuff. Although I do regularly keep up with a ton of stuff I am reading, I am very much behind on a bunch of shounen stuff.
