i did and suddenly the were power cuts in the house. i manage to go up and sleep in my parents room because i was soooo scared to death... by the way, i'm 24

there are 2 ibitsu (or more) in manga updates. the one that i talked about is the one about the gothic lolita girl, not the pevert

yaoi.

me too!! was still in high school then and didn't really care about genres. i read this manga without knowing. it was really disturbing. ugh! i stopped reading and became always wary of the genres.
well, now i'm kinda used reading ecchi stuff. i read some light yaoi too. shy but if ever i encounter that manga again, i think i'll feel the same as before.

Well, awhile back I read a bit of a yaoi series [first time reading yaoi then] that a lot of people recommended and said was really deep ;w; Since then, I never dared to even dared to touch most BL... laugh

I'm pretty strong when it comes to gore [my favorite genre of movie is horror], i find it hard to find a manga that stays in my mind and makes me think, that's f#$% up. But I guess High school of the dead BM: Nectar and Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou just the concept of it all no

Saitama Chainsaw Girl
the most stupid manga i ever read. its blatant idiocy made my mind go numb. a total waste of 30 minutes.

then there is something wrong with me laugh . i enjoyed the story very much. though i was disturbed at how all the girls die. if you like this kind of stuff, you may as well go for Kami no Kodomo. it's guro with an artistic touch biggrin

I just read high school girl in concrete by Waita Uziga and Suck it by shintaro kago and i immediately deleted them after reading em' - sad

I guess manga with really violent plots and slow torture are pretty scarring =_=

The one work of fiction that really affected me was a novel series the name of which I happily forgot. It involved everything that something meant for children shouldn't.
Edit - Found it - someone recommended it in Medieval Dark Fantasy. The Black Jewels Trilogy.

Something meant for children? What made you think that? The Black Jewels novels are clearly adult fiction.

On topic, there are mangas that have temporarily horrified me, but nothing that's stuck.

Usually, I'm pretty tough no matter what I read but seriously, this one yaoi one-shot totally freaked me out. I don't remember its name and I don't want to but I'm pretty sure it was released by Nakama.

The content is too horrible, so I'll put it in spoiler:

A guy fucked by a mad horse. Yes, a horse. It's bestiality! >__<

Some of the long-time yaoi readers might know what I'm talking about... Anyway, I'm glad that no other group has ever picked up this kind of yaoi manga again.

Dude! was that the one with the art that was similar to FMA? I think I read that YEARS ago.

I got one of my friends hooked offa yaoi with Hoshi no Yakata (a personal fav, lol.. def. an aquired taste) She said it scared her too badly for her to even read shounen-ai. I didnt' think it was bad at all.

That's not that obvious when you look online for recommendations.

The whole thing about killing yourself and everything just freaked me out. Also the severe child abuse thing. God.

Kiseijuu and FrankenFran sometimes. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni series, there was sometimes... XP

but the one that most scared my to life and I stopped reading. I don't remmenber the name of the author, nor the series, but there is a capter called Disc (which was one of the "soft" chapter), and one called Labyrinth, man... All of the sacred! Really Shocking stuff. OH! The one with the mountain thing! DEAR GOD! x__x (If I remember or find it. I will edit and post it)

Tokyo Akazukin
Traumatized for sure. I was young. Didn't even know what half the tags meant.

I'll have to agree with Tokyo Akazukin. I was rather interested in what the fuss was about concerning this manga. I've read many gory mangas, but this one was rather extreme. It was the first time I actually felt disturbed by a manga, having read many seinen mangas.

Unfortunately, I actually finished the manga, feeling challenged by those who called it one of the most 'disturbing'. I took no joy in doing so, but it has indeed left a pretty big impression on me. The story was rather confusing though. The art wasn't too detailed, so I wasn't really disturbed by the gore that much, but the very concept and idea of the manga, actually disturbed me to a larger extent.

Jisatsu Circle was kind of disturbing-interesting too imo. But didn't affect me much. But it did make me think about the mindset of those with psychological issues.

Uzumaki and Gyo had pretty scary art to me. But I guess that's the most disturbing one, with the detailed art and all. Those two mangas actually made me tolerate gore, and horror in mangas better. So in a way, it has scarred/affected me in my tolerance for mangas.

Well, I strongly advise you not to read these mangas. But if anyone's feels challenged, go for it.
