Hi guys, I'm looking for a manga with a really evil villain. I've got no preferences about the main character(s) or anything, just want them to be up against something/someone really evil. I'm talking stab you without warning, stoops to any level, so evil that they almost give up all hope- kind of evil. Although lesser degrees are fine XD
My main example I'm pretty sure most people would know would be Voldemort from Harry Potter, or in terms of manga there's the Millenium Earl from D.Grayman. I don't really mind if there are mid-bosses that the mc has to go through before getting to the main boss/evil villain. However I don't really want it to be a succession of bad guys getting more evil as they go along, as seen in things like Gantz, Hunter x hunter, Fairy tail or One piece. If its going to be like that, I'd prefer it to be more like Psyren or D.Grayman with factions of an evil organization but only one evil head honcho running the show.
Some other examples that mostly fit are: Alive:the last evolution, Fullmetal alchemist, Code breaker, Blue exorcist and Kagerou Nostalgia. Out of these the villain in Kagerou Nostalgia's probably the closest to what I want. In terms of being evil, almost killing an mc for no reason and being an integral part of the plot.
I'd also prefer it if the villain wasn't just someone that sits in his lair directing his minions, I'd rather the mc and villain encountered each other at times before the end fight.
I dont mind about genres I read anything.
Thanks for taking the time to read my request, sorry I ranted a bit lol, any suggestions would be appreciated

Id's antag Chaos fits pretty well.
If you don't mind an anime try Kiba. Kiba's antag Hugh is pure evil... and insane.

Do enjoy Kiba!
Its a great anime. Awesome character development (including Hugh's, the antagonist has character growth!)

The only manga that comes to mind is the manhwa 'Jack Frost'. I know you'll like it. It's Ongoing, Original, and a Horror.

Kiba is also kinda unique as a shounen-type anime where the main character is actually willing to use a bit underhanded methods now and then. Zed is also nice in his active hatred of the dick-size comparing and greed going on about the various nations, antagonists and the rest of the selfish fuckers.
I will never forget Zed going in for the negotiations at the end of the Neotopia part

Noblesse
Still its bad to call someone evil as what might be evil to us, might be hope for others. Its natural for a person to go to any lengths to achieve his/her goal, no matter what the cost.

Dr. Crombell.... He's an amazing (evil)character, and my favourite villain of all times.

Lol can't wait to get to that bit. I started watching Kiba, it's good so far, the old man reminds me of a fantasy version of santa clause XD (just an fyi lol)
I'm also reading shin angyo onshi and loving it ^^ its so unpredictable~. Excellent plot.
@SuperSaiyanDude:I'm already reading Jack frost, not sure it fits perfectly either, but thanks for the suggestion anyways.
@strixflash: Noblesse sounds good, I don't usually go for reading webcomics, but I do have a few I like, and that one seems pretty good, so I'll give it a go, Thanks And yeah I know... I mean you can say that for reality but in the world of fiction you can get people who are evil. Thats why I used Voldemort as my main example....I usually read ones where there are two sides to every story like in Battle Royale

Where the kids that were playing to win and killing people had deep reasons they were fucked up
and in Gantz Spoiler (mouse over to view)
All the aliens are living just as we are so there are major moral dilemmas as to who's right and wrong, even puts you up to humans vs aliens to a degree
but this time I really just wanted a manga where I could hate them. I know that sounds weird, but I wasn't really after the moral dilemma, this time black and white and a few grey areas between are what I'm after.God Eater

This aint a manga.. it's a book named Eragon, 4 books in total.. evil bad guy like voldemort.
http://www.alagaesia.com/
This page is not a place to read of the content, it's where you can read about the author and a small bit of his work.
for manga i'd say
Ubel blatt the thing witht this manga is that.. it's not a villan that everyone knows.
The Legend of Maian this manga takes a bit untill the main evil appears.
666 Satan <-- more to you're description

Of all the fantasy books out there, you recommend Paolini ?!? Ugh. His works aren't quite as bad as they are made out to be (though I haven't finished the last book yet, it always gets interrupted by something superior), but they are highly derivative and Paolini isn't all that hot as a writer.
If we're talking fantasy books and want relatively neat good vs evil stuff, start at Eddings' Belgariad and Malloreon. It is pretty much as vanilla fantasy as you could ever get, with massive stereotyping and plot an 8 year old could predict, but a fantastic and hilarious read all the same because Eddings is an excellent writer.
Also, major derail. Books be books, manga be manga. Let's stick with material from the eastern part of the globe.
Edit. Also, the villains of the Inheritance-cycle and Belgariad are both disqualified from what the OP asks by the virtue of " I'd also prefer it if the villain wasn't just someone that sits in his lair directing his minions, I'd rather the mc and villain encountered each other at times before the end fight."
Galbatorix suffers from the villain in his lair -syndrome, big time, and Torak sleeps for the duration of 4.8 / 5 books.

Awesome post, will definitely keep checking this one out.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Berserk yet. Seriously, the things that the protagonist (Gatts) goes through just because of what the antagonist has done for his selfish desires ...
It's a serious abandon all hope or go insane. I want to tell more, but don't want to risk spoiling the future dynamics

No Dio Brando yet? Really? Well, I'm gonna say it, you can hardly find someone more evil than him as an antagonist. If you're not familiar, he's the bad guy in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure first arc (which is counted as the stand-alone story Phantom Blood).
