Series Name Change
(6 posts, 1160 views) Posted: over 5 years ago by HCB in One Day (Old Xian)
It may have started off as One Day in the compilation but once it started as a proper series on Weibo, it became known as 19 Days. As in the artist herself hashtags it as 19 Days on Weibo.

The series has been published by Tong Li as 19 Days too.
How the mangaka illustrates fingers
(0 posts, 845 views) Posted: over 5 years ago by HCB in Minamoto-kun Monogatari
It's been disturbing me almost every time they appear, except when they're folded and it actually looks like there are joints.

Otherwise, they remind me of boneless fat chilies.

S D I E B C (Chapter 26, page 8)
(0 posts, 1498 views) Posted: over 6 years ago by HCB in Bagjwi Sayug
This is referring to that scene where Min Gyeom takes a screenshot of Sam's status page and asks Mingji what she thinks "S D I E B C" means, but she doesn't know.

I am aware that the scanlators did explain that portion. For those who are learning Korean or interested in fu...
Sankarae length
(2 posts, 2006 views) Posted: over 8 years ago by HCB in Sankarea
59 chapters is correct when the extra chapters are added in.

One shows Rea and the gang going to an indoor swim park; second one is on her taking a walk with Furuya. The last one was released after Chapter 56 and it seems to be set many years after Rea and Furuya first met.
Is manga scanlation coming to an end?
(8 posts, 2923 views) Posted: over 8 years ago by HCB in Manga General

No, it will be now and it will be ever.

That phrasing is really odd. i took it to mean "No, it will end now and it will be over"?

I chose the last option to echo yurakair's "Never!"

Scanlating takes a lot of effort and time. For all involved in the project, it is also a...
White skin
(15 posts, 3268 views) Posted: over 8 years ago by HCB in Manga General
May I suggest distinguishing between pale and fair? Pale implies being possibly sickly to me whereas fair is the commonly used term on beauty products.

On fair skin seeming unhealthy, I've literally seen girls who were very fair with naturally rosy chicks looking very much...
CrunchyRoll
(7 posts, 2940 views) Posted: over 8 years ago by HCB in Ajin
I've been reading the Chinese scanlations until there was a page that didn't load properly (around Chapter 34) so I looked up the Crunchyroll scanlations too and began reading both side by side.

Most translations stayed consistent; I only have an issue with Chapter 35.5 wh...

Site Poll - Chat Box 129 - Replacing Manga Covers
(18 posts, 3897 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by HCB in Chatter Box
Quote from Turbophoenix
I only care if they do it midway through a series. Like if the previous covers all used one theme or style, and then the new one just breaks away from that. I haven't seen it happen though.

That is quite rare indeed. I do know of one case where that ...

Does one of you look androgynous or of the opposite gender?

Both, actually. The androgynous one's my friend, though.

Sure, happened once. Hilarious.

A friend of the opposite gender was mistaken for my gay lover. Incidentally, my friend is gay.
Chuang Yi? From where can I buy their releases?
(9 posts, 3442 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in I'm Looking For...
I've alway had the impression that their books were of crappy quality.

I remember a flattened piece of coal-like material falling out of a "Slamdunk" I got from 'em. Also, in the very same copy, two of the pages weren't separated correctly so they were joined together at t...
Small suggestion (maybe not a good one?) about the author pages.
(7 posts, 1140 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in Suggestions & Bugs
I hope this isn't considered unnecessary bumping of an old thread. O_o I just wanted to chime in with support for this suggestion since I had intended to post on the same thing.

If that's the case, why don't you just see the series' information page?

Translation help
(5 posts, 1239 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in Manga General
Ooh, Wakan looks pretty nifty.

IMO, it can be a little tricky picking out the correct translation, especially without a minimal grasp of grammar. I would suggest looking at context (pictures and the rest of the sentence[s]) when trying to pick out the right one. See if the...

There is no way of reading manga on this site too. ._.

It's looking up a book on Wikipedia. You get information on publishers, volumes released, etc., but you can't actually read the book on Wikipedia.

This site just provides information. You cannot download any manga to read here. Maybe you can check with the friend who introduced you.

Also, the forum rules can be found here.
Boob Size Preferance
(602 posts, 92364 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in Adult (18+)
To me, I find the shape, and perhaps the feel of it too, would be more important than size. Isn't it easier for smaller sizes to remain firm?
Aren't mirrors creepy?
(203 posts, 18004 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in Chatter Box
I only dislike mirrors when I'm washing my face at the sink. I keep thinking I'd look up to see something behind me that isn't there. -_-

The only time mirrors really freaked me out was after watching the original "The Ring". I tried to rationalize it since in the movie, i...
Do you think manga has increased literacy?
(23 posts, 2841 views) Posted: over 16 years ago by HCB in Manga General
To a certain extent, yes, I do believe so. I also think it depends on the individual and what kind of manga he/she reads.

For example, some people may be lazy and they'd skim over unfamiliar words, and/or maybe they just don't absorb new words that readily. For them, readi...
