If its relevant to the point, sure. But most of the time, its only for fan-service, which I deem as unnecessary if the plot is good in the first place :l

I personally think that you're categorizing it a bit way too broadly for it to not fall into either category. What you're saying is basically action-ish(not all action-ish novels equates to xianxia though) and a focus on daily life instead.

Nope Purple.Jester is a pure original, while the only fan fict part in Aevitas is the mentioning of The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor as a game in the world in like the 1st chapter... other than that, it's original
