Akuma To Love is Love

This is honestly one of the best shojo manga's I've read. I can't predict half the things Maria will say and while the plotline of the two guys there ready to save her is a little bit cliche I love the fact that their characters aren't. Yes Meguro is a bit of a bad boy and Yuusuke is the kind one but their personalities go deeper than that. Especially that of Yuusuke's. Sorry if I sound like a fan girl I've just really fallen for his character. I can't really understand half his actions.

Though Maria's just the same. She's strong and I can't believe that the teacher is such an idiot. But obviously that is meant to inspire fury into the minds of the readers. This is a very well written if not completely original manga. Still a good manga doesn't have to be original. It just has to be 'lovely!'

And that's why I rate this a 10/10 because I couldn't stop reading. Yes Maria is a little hard to relate to but then again there are a lot of humans out there like her. I would however like for her to be a little more human sometimes.

One of the coolest heroines ever!

Having read the first 9 chapters of this manga, I can say that Kawai Maria is the coolest heroine that I have ever seen. She is not a damsel in distress. She merely has the ability/misfortune to perceive things as they are, not as people present them to be. While it seems that Maria is harsh on the faults of others, she saves her harshest criticism for herself. I love her Goth-Loli style. I like how the narration switches between the three main characters. The villains are top-notch, inspiring an entertaining amount of hate. If you like a shoujo manga that is more complex and developed than the norm, read Akuma to Love Song.

The main character is pretty interesting. Maria has an almost supernatural level of perception (or so it seems to me). She can tell everyone's motivation straight off. However, she's really bad at socializing, with absolutely no tact at all. This makes her come off as rude and arrogant.

Because of that, and jealousy, she's the target of bullying from some of the other girls. The general outline of this seems pretty basic. New transfer student gets bullied, 2 (possible) love interests stand up for her.

I'll continue to read this because I like the main character.

i love this manga. most probaby because i like the female lead the most.

Cos she's not all sweet-sugar-plum. Neither is she bad-ass-karate-kid. She's just who she is. Straight-forward bishounen. haha. and i like it that she doesnt kiss up to people to get others to like her. Her words are mean, but she means well....sometimes. She's someone u dont meet with (or read about) everyday.

but i hate her class. especially the girls. ohmygawd!! talk about being bitches!! i dont know how she manage to have so much friggin patience.. and the boys doesnt seem to have any balls to stop the girls at all!!
well.. except the 2 to bishies~~ ahahah~

and the teacher.... shessh.. is that even a teacher? >.>
ah anyways im looking forward to another great chapter.

it is really different than the other shoujo mangas you really cant tell whats going to happen next unlike that other ones. and i think that the reason that TOMORI didnt draw the rest of the characters as good as the girl is so that the girl would stand out and show how different she is from every one else

The first chapter was pretty good.
After that just came the regular bullying topped with unreasonable and over the top actions and reactions by everyone involved.

Could've been better. And 10 volumes shorter.
The main character is beautiful. Everyone else is not.
It clearly shows who the mangaka cares about.

Dropped.

I've never really met a person like Maria, and maybe I wouldn't like hanging out with her, but she is one amazing heroine. She's very interesting. Other than her, I'm only fond of Meguro. Yuusuke seems to be complex, but he's not entirely likable. Tomoyo is another more fleshed out character, but I pity her more than like her. BUT my fondness for Maria and Meguro keep me reading. As chen2yuen mentioned, I also feel that the teacher and all of those girls are stereotypical bullies, but that doesn't bother me, because the main characters are so cool. biggrin It's just the beginning and I hope that this actually goes somewhere good, but for now, it's one of the few mangas that I really anticipate each release!

The concept seems great. But for some reason I find the heroine not fleshed out enough to seem human, so she ends up being slightly annoying and hard to relate to. She seems like a stereotype, without any depth. All you know is that she is blunt and a very just person. But when push comes to shove she rarely defends herself or a situation she just kind of accepts it, maybe its her upbringing. But I really thought from the summary that she would call people straight out on the horrible stuff they're doing and not do the Vague, Sarcastic and Condescending way of criticizing... Also I have to say, i hate how they refer to her as a devil (they are referring to her right?) When apparently most of the class, the teacher included apparently are all cliche unreasonable people/bullies.
