Gokusen is long but worth the read. There's filler and some boring parts but the best parts are worth it. The ending was perfect and had me laughing out loud even the second time I read it. The bonus chapters at the end are just as adorable.
Not one of the best romances, but cute nonetheless and the comedy is more important anyway. Hell, even the action is good to me. Yankumi is an amazing teacher and her students are amazing, especially Shin of course.
The art gets better as the story progresses though never gets to be perfect. I like it, but I'm pretty forgiving on that front. I think if you can look past the art style then it's definitely worth the read.

This series just does not take the "yakuza heiress" premise far enough to make it feel as relevant as it should. It is reminiscent of GTO, however it doesn't have the same level of humor or wild antics that series had. It feels monotonous and while it does have some potentially interesting narratives that would have been fun to see develop, it ends too early for them to have an impact and the sudden romantic development at the end felt rushed and unconvincing.

Gosh, it's not like this is the first time I've red/watched this series (its infect the million time XDD, Oh, Shinkumi my heart is just~~~Kyaaaa I want more!!! This Manga/Anime/Jdrama are PERFECT and it's sad that there aren't anything like it anywhere. Thanks to this manga I got sooo into the OlderFem and YoungerMa thing, but all I found in other mangas: Smut, silly plot, more smut, lame ENDINGS *sigh*

Wish there was more, this manga is EPIC!

I remember watching the anime years ago when I only watched anime. I finally get the finish this because the the anime only covers half of the manga. I like that the teacher is female and a strong one at that. I was surprised how the art was different from the anime, but it does get better after each volume.

The ending was okay, but I thought it could have been better. Everything started to wrap up in 5-10 chapters and I felt it was kind of rushed. For the romance, there aren't much build up between the characters and you only really see some romance between the characters near the end of the manga. For me, it's more of a comedy manga then a romance one.

Overall, I like it. I only give this a 8/10 because some chapters are fillers. The author could have used those chapters to make a better ending.

I loved this series overall, and the students became so entertaining after a while.

Reminds me of Tokyo Crazy Paradise (only because I read that first), but with a little less emphasis on romance. I agree with all the other comments that says how great this manga is. Go read it if you haven't!

Well, I forgot what else I wanted to add, but I'll come back to edit this comment. Conclusively, to describe this manga in one word: WONDERFUL.

oh dear.

Shin is the love of my life. And I adore the overwhelming chemistry between Shin and Yamaguchi!! They are so perfect for each other in my eyes even though the spicier scenes don't even start until wayyyy later in the series!!

Yamaguchi is also a wonderful human being. She is hilarious omg.

And the lawyer dude is amusing as well. Although he never did much as the third wheel, I love him as a character on his own. He is relatable, and his actions are more understandable than the actions of typical third wheelers out there in the shoujo world.

All in all, this manga is the love of my life....so much that I watched the anime and Japanese live adaption starring Jun Matsumoto (this was how I fell in love with Jun too...ha ha ha)

This was a great series in some aspects, fun, entertaining, some action, good characters... but at the same time if fails in a few important points, imo the ending sucks, in more than one way and second, because it dragged more than necessary, there are a lot of fillerish things going on of zero importance, if the author had so much chapters to waste, a decent ending would have been a way better choice.

This manga is one of the rare works that can be called 'complete'. It truly never does let you down, as 99% of mangas do. It was entertaining, comedic and touching. It has one of the more satisfying endings (including the special chapters following the main storyline), but it still leaves you wanting for more. That just shows how great it is.

For those commenting on the art, I was one of those who originally dropped it because I couldn't get used to the art. But once I picked it up again and got over it, I have to say that there is not much to regret. Wonderful manga from this author.

It's worth the all nighter! Sad to say the drama does it no justice. The drama's good...no great! But this... THIS IS SPECTACULAR!!! The only flaw is that I don't know how it end for the couple! What about that guy talking to Shin and Yukumi at the end? At least not a cliff-hanger or the treacherous axed ending! Those make me "CRAY". Anyway it's a 10
