Description
Randou Masashi, a self-centered, brash karate star, was the victim of a horrific bus accident that left him comatose, his face terribly disfigured by extensive burns.

Genius plastic surgeon Dr. Manabe saved Randou's life and went to work on his face, gradually reconstructing it based on a photograph found in the wreckage of the bus. But in a cruel twist of fate, the photo that the doctor used as his reference was not a picture of Randou, but of Rina Kurimi, the girl whom Randou has a crush on!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love this gender bender manga! It came as a shock to me even though I knew the basis of the genre I didn't expect it to be absolutely hilarious! The situation you might think is weird but it falls into place specifically why Rondoh must act as a girl. This Rondoh is a lethal kungfu expert champion who looses to no one, give him a girl face and he becomes Yuna the most beautiful but down right DANGEROUS girl at school. BWAHAHA! If this hasn't interest you, throw in a doctor who wants to permanently turn him into a girl almost every episode by cutting off his "you know what" HAHAHAHA. Seriously guys this is an incredible situational manga that strives on emotional traps and escapes. The relationship factor is an added bonus to all the hoo haa. Its light hearted at the beginning but gets quite emotional toward the end where everything gets intense and life threatening! Go and read it now if you haven't, its highly enjoyable and fun to read!

Your friendly neighbour Shavone!

Disappointed with the ending

I think Randoh-kun should tell Rina the truth. Once her family and Rina-chan knew where Yuna is they will not be against her dreams of being a beautician. It might be a little difficult to explain Randoh-kun pretending to be Yuna to the parents though bigrazz
Still the story was very fun, and the mangaka was really creative to come up with such an idea smile
I wish they had a different ending. At least I would like to see Rina-Randoh couple on a date ;)

The first word that comes to mind when I think about Pretty Face is "lacking". I feel sorry that the mangaka had to end the story since the concept behind it is quite unique and entertaining. What was lacking from this manga was, as other people mentioned, plot. The manga is comical and entertaining all the while not really diving deeper into the storyline. Romance is non-existent in this manga so for those who are reading this for the romance you will be very dissapointed. The mangaka simply did not add any romance, at least from Rando's point of view, I can think of alot of comical situations where a normal interaction between two twin sisters could be a real nightmare for Rando who is in love with Rina. (i.e. Rina trying to set up her sister with a boy, wanting to bathe together and so on). Also, alot of characters added nothing to the plot development other then just being there. Especially Natsuo and Nozomi who in my opinion where two important characters that could have taken this story much further if used correctly. I felt the ending was a little rushed but still I find some closure in reading it so I am not dissapointed but was hoping for more (especially regarding the relationship between male Rando and Rina).
The art is great, I am a big fan of Kano Yasuhiro's drawing style. In the end, I can't bring myself to give this a high rating since there was so much more that could have been done to make this work turn from just entertaining to truly unique. I decided to give it a 8.

Just your average shounen. Pretty much zero plot development, rushed ending etc. The only redeeming point is trap factor.

I didnt really look forward to this manga at first. I assumed that since its the guy being blended i was prepaired for tons of girls flashing everywhere. Its not that bad. Actually the story build up on so many other things i ignored the later random panty flashings. The ending was well brought together though it was really sad. (for me) I really wanted Rando to finally end up with her or something...that was the best possibillity.

Aside for some random new additions the manga is pretty consistant and entertaining. (meaning that if you read the first chapter and like it you will enjoy the rest of it some way or another) It was hard to keep my laughter from being heard since my brother was asleep in the same room. Anyways. This is can be an entertaining book for both girls and guys.

Awesome

I really enjoyed this. It was filled with many hilarious scenes, and it just played out wonderfully. It never got boring, but I did get anxious for more romance (which was never delivered). I didn't mind that much though since I didn't expect too much of a romantic aspect considering the situation of the manga and the fact that it is a shounen ecchi gender bender comedy. It is a tad too episodic but that fits in with the comedic tone.
The ending just screams sequel. Too bad the mangaka doesn't appear to be making one (anytime soon that is, I can always hope). I mean, it shouldn't be too hard to write a script for one year filled with episodic comedic romantic ecchi situations. I suppose he would be too busy with Mx0 at the moment.

Genre-wise, it is definitely a good choice.

ART: The art is very appealing, and it uses veeeery exaggerated expressions to convey thoughts, which does help the humourous aspects of the series.

PLOT: What plot? The plot of this manga is not very... corporeal. It kinda sits in the background, twiddling its thumbs behind the curtain. The only plot is not a huge focus, since this is supposed to be a humourous, random manga, not an angst-ridden, serious series. And yes, there are many issues involving common sense, but there's a little something called "suspension of disbelief" that is necessary to enjoy the series (or any series, for that matter). So these issues didn't really impact me at all. As for the ending, yes, it was a bit lackluster. But, then again, the series itself would've been difficult to end on any note, and it makes sense that the author would want to choose an open ending over one that is more concrete.

CHARACTERS: They are varied and absolutely hilarious but still believable. No one is "perfect," which is a bit plus.

In short: if you want a manga series that's light-hearted, hilarious, and a bit perverted that doesn't put much focus on plot, then this is a perfect choice. But if you're into the more serious spectrum of manga, skip over this one. Also, if little inconsistencies (or breaks in logic) annoy you, you'd best stay away, since this is only for humour.

Why did I give it a ten despite its issues? Because it fits its genre perfectly and did what it was supposed to do. It wasn't weighed down with useless information that would be necessary to fill plot-holes or angst-ridden flashbacks/occurrences. As the subject says, this is a great manga if you're looking for something of this particular genre.

Even if you get bored after the first volume, you must read chapter 44, because it is incredibly funny (in an ecchi way, of course)!

Nice manga, really worth a look or two. Story is light and easy to follow, drawing is good, chars feels complete.
Unfortunatly there's no clean ending and with this 53 chapters isn't enough at all.
