I loved the oneshot but i can't see that becoming a long series if it stay the same way as the oneshot.
War-peace-war-peace-war-peace
Was ok in the oneshot but in a serie after a few chapters it will start to be really boring.

Every couple of years another harem gets popular

Another generic harem manga becomes popular due to the next generation of horny pre-teen boys. It's like the publishers have a checklist of harem manga cliches and they commission some new poor schmuck author to follow that list to a T. Nisekoi is that manga, as there's not a single original bone in its body. The art and its execution isn't bad, but it feels like yet another market researched, massed produced clone that was churned out from the soulless Shounen Jump factory.

Glancing over the written reviews, its painfully clear that most people are not used to harem stories and how they progress. The childhood friends and promises remind me of Love Hina. This is a good harem story that has way more comedy value than others that I have read. A rating of 8.0 or higher would be fair for Nisekoi. I'm not sure why people expect everything resolved immediately like Raku picking a girl or the pendant mystery being solved because that is ridiculous and would just end the series. Of course they are going to support and publish the manga as long as they can. The progression of things between characters is fine due to the fact that they are only partially into year two at the time of this writing (Chapter 112 is most recent). It is well-written and comedic. Also, if you know even a little bit about harems, you probably know that it is not odd to add characters (especially when they are already mentioned in other chapters). I like that the author did a slow build of a harem instead of the traditional most/all girls of the harem are here right from the start. Interesting take on the harem/childhood promise kind of dynamic. For me, it is 9/10. Way better than many manga of its type.
EDIT: I decided to update my rating to 10/10. I actually think the manga is a little bit lower (see above) but this is just to balance out the unreasonably low scores others give it

Super slow paced romance. All those misunderstandings, nothing that has never been done before.
Girl and boy hate each other, but, by the end of the chapter, something happens that brings them close. The protagonist then proceed to think she is actually a good girl, but she gets mad because of something, punches him and he then realises she is not good at all and the chapter ends the same way it begun.
Still, the tsundere here is better than in other manga, not perfect, tough.

The plot caught my attention, but the story became weak after they introduced so many characters. I didn't expect it to be harem :'( I admit that it's still quite enjoyable to read and I hope it gets better with time.
give a shot u might like it....

at first i didnt want to read this because of all the negative comments n im not going to lie a lot of it is true. its cliche the not so original childhood back story and it s really nothing you havent seen before but despite all that its a good read to the point i cant wait for the next chapter. it has its funny moments n the character if u get into it are pretty likable there all very cute in there own way that u cant help but love them n the story is a kinda sweethearted and even though u kinda know what gonna happen it just sucks you in n you just wanna read it anyways ..... im giving it a 10 because it been a very long time since i read a manga with all these cliches n still want to read more...
n just saying i dont really comment on a manga unless it was a really enjoyable read or a really bad one

My title sets it up. This is, as many have mentioned, a "typical romantic comedy manga." In other words, it's trying to pull off every cliche in the book, from the harem triangles to the shoujo melodrama.
But for its good points... it's funny. That's about it. The art is nice as well. Truly, I couldn't imagine anyone reading this manga because of the awesome romantic plot. The draws to this manga are its "readibility" and humor.
With the good points summed up, I'll give the premise of the characters. The male lead doesn't seem to have much of a personality, as it is for most event-driven mangas (which this most definitely is). The female lead, in direct opposition, has a ridiculously exaggerated tsundere personality which may grow on you. The side/main female love interest, Onedera... she's just the "normal, shy girl," who is fairly capable of getting on people's nerves without the excuse of being a tsundere. The other side characters are actually funny though, and balance the... negative aspects of the main characters.
Basically, the characters mean absolutely nothing, except for maybe Kirisaki, the main female. Her personality is actually strong enough to influence the plot, whereas the others are just... blank slates that let things happen. So overall, this manga is about having ridiculous (cliche) things happen and the exaggerated and the admittedly funny things that result from them.
I personally read it when I have time to burn.

It's cliche but I find myself not hating it. Sure the whole fake lovers thing has been done over and over again, but this was pretty funny. What I like about cliches is that I can enjoy it as it is and everything is expected, so it's a light easy read. No conspiracies to unfold, no betrayal, no weird twists, just straightforward cliche. Good for when you're in a lazy mood. Nothing to complain about the art too. The characters expressions and exaggerations increased the comedy in the situation. Overall I enjoyed it a lot.
For what it's trying to do (comedy) I think it's pretty successful so I gave it a 10/10

Jeez its like reading a book that you've read 5 times over and know whats gonna happen. Other than that fun characters nice story. I liked the one shot better but this is still good, i guess thats why a lot of people say they are disappointed.
I love the art

The one thing I can say is that the art is great. The expressions are vibrant, it's in a slightly sketched style but the lines are clear and consistent. The main character is likable enough. The only complaint I have is that the main character acts in a very "anime" way where he overreacts to everything.
Overall, this seems promising and looks like a typical comedy romance manga.
