What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother’s best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn’t enough, his suitor, Usami Akihiko, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys’ love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like “Usami licks every inch of Misaki’s hot body”…well, let’s just say that all hell breaks loose. Plus it doesn't help with Usami claiming he's in love with him.
Junjou Egoist: Kamijou Hiroki is a broken man, consumed by unrequited love for his childhood friend, Usami Akihiko (the writer from Junjou Romantica). Along comes Kusama Nowaki, whose name "Nowaki" means "typhoon", an orphan working his way through life since middle school. Like the typhoon he is named for, he whirls into Hiroki's life and heart, blowing all resistance away before him.
Junjou Terrorist: As fate would have it, Miyagi Yoh (whom Hiroki is working with as assistant professor) and Takatsuki Shinobu, a high school student, cross paths. Bits of pieces start to link together from the first two stories. That aside, Miyagi, who has a sad hidden past in himself involving a relationship with his teacher, is faced with Shinobu, who just says whatever is on his mind. This is one of my fav manga ever! (-^___^-). The story and plot is so funny and cute. I love both Junjou Romantica and Junjou Egoist. Especially JJ Egoist in Volume 2 when they were breaking-up. I cried so hard! and I really felt such pain myself lol. I love the way Nakamura sensei describes how each uke(Mizuki & Kamijou) feel. It's very touching and heartful. The art may not be as good as other famous author and it's not the best, but somehow I feel tht her drawing could convey such feelings and emotions.
I just love all Nakamura sensei's work! <33

I tried this manga, hearing all the hype about it and, I don't know... the first volume just seemed so.. so typical, I gave up on it. Then, then came the anime and everything was so much nicer, funnier and sweeter than I remember. The egoist drama that I hadn't read was really touching. And so, I gave this a second try and, recently I wasn't disappointed. Nakamura's art is suddenlyy getting a lot better, maybe she got a cool new assistant or something.
I really like Junjou Egoist. ;o; Junjou Terroist is alright too, but for some reason I like the main story the least? Is that weird? ...not only that but I want Misaki and Usami-ani to be together, I feel so guuuuuilty. ;o;

I can't help but love this manga. I realize how people might like the Egoist pairing better first (hell, I love them) but I assure you, around volume 8, things get MUCH better. Having read summaries up to volume 9, I can't help but say this is an excellent manga, even when it falls into some cliches, like making everyone gay or making a little too many people fall for the same person. I'm really looking forward for more.

I love this manga series forever. My fav. pair would be Misaki & Usagi. The couple are downright romantic and they touched my heart in the middle of their *coughs* lovemaking *coughs*. I can feel the love, sweetness in their relationship. I cried at times too because they're too adorable.

I've realized that I'm not a big fan of the tsudere characters. My hands itch just wanting to smack some sense into them! I started to read this again after a few years in hiatus, while I can still enjoy it, I have to constantly remind myself that it's written for Japanese teenage girls.... I must overlook all the liquids that makes you wonder what anatomy we are supposed to see in the panels!
If you're looking for character growth you will hate this one. Expect to be confused at times with the sudden flashbacks. It's more episodic, we're use to the continuous progress so it can be daunting at times. Perfect for anime though, so I would recommend doing that to most people.

I have been trying to restrain myself from commenting until i at least finished a bit more but oh well...This manga is just like the classic love mode, you just cannot miss it and yes the stories are somewhat confusing at times because of the time frames and different characters involved in each but once you start you get the hang of it. I cannot believe that there is finally an anime seems to be just as good, except we do not get to see much of the yaoi scenes or should i say nothing at all other than we know they are doing it.....i hear it will be 24 episodes so i wonder how much of the manga it will cover..

I didn't like Junjou Romantica (the first couple in the volumes) because the relationship is just too unequal. Misaki is 18, but he acts like he's 12, and Usagi is half again as old as he is (28). Not to mention that there's non-con, and neither character is well-developed.
However, Junjou Egoist (the second couple) is becoming one of my favorite yaoi story lines. I cried so hard in volume 2 when they finally confessed. I like how this story doesn't contain the usual yaoi storylines. Rather than just getting them together, she addresses the harder issues, and the pain, and the bitter sweetness, of making a relationship work. I kinda wish Nowaki had become a social worker, though. I never see those in yaoi mangas. ^^;

I like it! so funny and cute. Though I don't think the art is that great it's fide because the manga is so funny^.^
Things were a little to fast in the begining for me.. I give it 9/10
It's so cute how Misaki tries to denay his feelings^^
Edit:
You know... I love yaoi, I love when they're longer...
But there are limits... Not to mention that the mangaka still can't draw, but the story also repeats itself... Again, and again...And again.
So from 9.5 I drop it to 8.4... Cause really... At least give us some progress, some more interesting twists...
Something... It all remains the same. Slightly changed, but...
*sigh*
I really hope the mangaka will find something new to write about, because overall, Jounjo Romantica is good, and I am even willing to read it despite the art... (better scans would really help though).

I'm a bit picky about my yaoi, in that it should't offend my feminine sensibilities and shouldn't contain the REALLY retarded genre stereotypes. I love this author; her stuff is almost all pretty and fun to read, has real plots (regardless of how silly they are, THEY EXIST AND MAKE SENSE which frankly is more than you can say for 75% of yaoi manga). This particular series is just silly romantic drama between two different main couples, with a few side stories... I have to say the translation has suffered in v.4 though, to the point where it wasn't fun to read, and I really hope someone can go through it again...
