Awesome Shounen Romance Comedy

This is definitely a good read. The hero is a very extreme and exaggerated otaku who loves 2D or idealistic girls over 3D or realistic girls. Also its not a typical harem, since the hero has completely no interest in real girls at all. Also it is not riddled with ecchi like other harems. Even the idea with real vs ideal is not original and is found throughout this story and plot, it is using a modern model with "galga" or dating simulation games as the device to drive this story and give it new perspective. This does make for good and interesting ideas which can make you think a bit about the world we live in. The supernatural element adds the right kind of spice that can drive this ideal vs real into the most interesting conflicts and forcing the hero to use his 2D girl "capturing" skills to "capture" real girls since his life depends on it. Each character gets a deep and valuable background that helps drives the story and makes you appreciate them. The character backgrounds are also very touching and you can see the hero shine in a way you never expect a person like him could even though he hates to deal with real life.
The anime also follows closely with the manga and flows beautifully giving you more of what I think the author wants you to feel when watching and/or reading his story.
Also when the story starts to become dry and redundant the author throws a twist that turns the direction into a story that is deeper and more complex than you could have expected. It is not so complex though that you can not follow but it does leave you wanting more after each chapter.

Overall this is a good thinker manga that makes you think about love in a whole new way that most never thought about and its funny too!

Genius.

This manga is brilliant and entertaining right from the very start. Wakaki Tamiki really does tread new ground in the harem genre - this is not your average harem manga, nor your average romance manga for that matter. Even though the author uses a lot of the genre's tropes; at the same time (through the use of the charismatic, genre-savvy main character), he subverts and deconstructs those same tropes, and it's damn refreshing. It's not just a gimmick, though. The storytelling is sweet, clever and amusing. The cliffhangers, of which there are many, are nevertheless tasteful - they don't feel like the author's just cut the chapter short. And the latest developments are exciting to say the least. Whether you're a jaded reader of romance manga, or an earnest fan, give this manga a try, you won't regret it.

the plot is very fresh, a harem where the main character dislikes the girls and loves games is new to me, lots of funny moments and unique characters. the variety of girls he must conquer also keeps the story fresh with new ideas and not so much repeating.

I think this is the best Harem ever in this year for me (because I don't like harem that's too many ecchi, serious) this manga is funny and the girls keep increase more and more (not like other harem series). And if it have a flaws for me it is the an anime, because it only have 13 episode.

edit: well, kami nomi have received green- lit for second season. the season is on April next year. yippi

Excellent series with original ideas and nice pacing. The newest arc (109-ish->) is simply brilliant. Keima is a refreshing protagonist for harem series and I really like the other characters too. Anime will begin in next month, hopefully it will be as good!

This series can be very funny and touching. Some people might have a problem with the basis of God capturing girls as if their objects, but every "capture" is touching in a way and the girls are very complex compared to other harem series. This manga is very funny and enjoyable if your into comedy or harem, not to mention the devil girl is insanely cute.

Great Series, Needs to be released in US/Canada!

This manga series is not your typical shounen, in a good way. The main character, Keima, is intelligent, and his methods and actions are questionable, but you always get it in the end. The female lead, Elsea, is a childish demon. That weird pairing is what makes the manga stand out.

However, what extends this manga high above the rest of the shounen is its humor. It's present in almost every chapter, especially when it's ironic. An example would be when Elsee is in a band with several of the girls Keima rescued. They need a 100% on english to form the club, and so they ask Keima, who gets nothing but 100% on exams, to help. After he helped them, most of the club members get a 100%, except Elsee. However, the teacher lets them create the club because he's so happy that Keima got a 99% on the test.

Awesome, Funny, and Interesting

At first, it may seem a little repetitive (guy trying to get girl, repeat), but it keeps getting different every time. The story keeps developing, especially around the 6x chapters - there it gets really good IMO. Its a good thing that the story has many chapters, so the main character can be developed.

with the awesome funny comedic moments (not your typical protagonist lol), and your heartfluttering moments, this manga deserves to be enjoyed by many (and rated highly).
Did I mention the art is good as well?

This Deserves All the Accolades.. 10/10

This manga deserves all the accolades, no exceptions. it's for any guy who has ever played a game, any game, for hours on end. it's for any girl who has had to deal with a boyfriend who brings his PSP wherever he goes (even on dates). In short, it's for everyone!

Maybe it's because us girls know and have fallen in love with real life guys who act just like Keima, or maybe because the storyline is exquisite, the main protagonist can be forgiven for his "faults" because he can be so adorable. if you're into in-depth romance, this isn't for you, but if you're into 'what would make a real gamer fall for a real girl" then you'll get hooked into this series.

Is it just me or is Keima getting more and more attractive with each passing chapter?

This is the kind of series where I either love it or hate it...and I'm happy to say that I ended up lovin' it. biggrin The premise is just something that can end up dull and predictable, but...something about this series..does the premise right. It's probably Keima himself who propels the series from 'blah' to awesome. I recommend!
