Drags on much too long

Other people have covered the absolutely unbelievable plot twists and the thoroughly psychotic characters, so I'll add my biggest complaint. Not only is it rough on my wallet, as a person buying the manga as it's released in North America, but the length of this series almost wrecks it. The story is really interesting and enjoyable for a few volumes, but at some point the author starts seeming to just be throwing in really stupid twists and turns to the plot just to keep the series going a little longer. This makes it get really melodramatic and a bit cliche and predictable as the series goes on. It would have been better if it was shorter.

Wildly unrealistic

Not that I'm saying manga has to be realistic, but the plot seems to be trying to set itself up as a realistic story except that it fails miserably. It's melodramatic and each chapter just keeps trying to shock the reader. I think that's the main problem. It's not as concerned with telling a coherent, logical story as it is with trying to come up with shocking twists. The biggest issue with that is that the story comes off fake and sounds as if it were written by a pre-teen.

There are no considerations for consequences and the students behave like a cult. There's little to no adult presence in the story, even though they appear now and then on the page. Characters also contradict themselves. It's just kind of a poorly executed story. I wouldn't recommend getting too invested in this series, but check it out if you have time for a little bewilderment.

Its good in the sense that its pretty Unpredictable. Except it has some major flaws as pointed out by PrincessVera. The manga feels all over the place thus i cannot give it anything above a 7. Like where is the law in this? It feels like te mangaka is making stuff up as she goes and throwing the plot around.

Update: This manga started out really good, but kept getting mediocre along the way. With 12 volumes, I would think that the author could have had better development (especially romance), but instead she wasted pages with fillers and evil faces. As a result, the ending was rushed, characters were tossed aside, and I feel like she just created plot twists on the spot for convenience. Very disappointing since it had such high potential.. Feels incomplete imo.

Enjoyable but shallow

At the surface, this shoujo seems revolutionary. It actually has a plot beyond that of simple romance and pettiness--it tries to tackle some dark themes, and manages to make it entertaining. However, this manga doesn't stand to logic or depth, because so much of the manga is just SO unlikely.

Nonetheless, it was an interesting read.

as heavy as shoujo gets

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this series. Honestly, I went in with the feeling that I would just get some typical twin sister love story (because that's what I needed) but then I found out it's a very long, drawn out plot about psychotic people.

Also, the faces actually scared the crap out of me.

Obviously this is not an in-depth analysis, but I found it impossible to really sympathize for any of the characters after the things that happened. It left a very sour taste in my mouth. And yet, I would suggest that if you can stomach all this, to read it. It really was interesting, but it just wasn't what I wanted to read.

Moral of the story: don't place your unrealistic expectations on something or someone you don't know! You'll just disappoint yourself. However, Arisa, for what it was, surprised me and I did enjoy reading it. I had to marathon it because of all the cliffhangers :/

Also, I'm stupid because I didn't read the tags, but I try not to because it spoils the story :S

Insane

This manga is insane. Basically, almost everyone in the story is craving for love and attention to the extent that they would kill anyone just to obtain their goal.

My thoughts: Just because you're abused or unloved or whatever, doesn't give you the rights to kill/torture others. A total different mindset from Naruto. Pessimistic.

But if you enjoy crazy killing scenes, I guess this is for you.

Dragged on too long...

This should've probably been better as say 4-5 volumes than 10+ volumes. The story starts to seem too long, and we're waiting and waiting to find out who the King is, although there is a lot of foreshadowing and random action.

Tsubasa's lack of interest in the boys around her was surprising, especially her little boy buddy who breaks laws to help her investigate. And the boys are the ones who are really doing the work, although Tsubasa is taking the risks... which endlessly backfires and she needs saving.

And twins

was kind of interesting... although

the boyfriend was probably the biggest surprise, and I mean his cheating ways among other things.

Regardless, this is not a manhwa sitch where the rowdy twin gets her man and overpowers the school with sheer strength and character (if you read manhwa, you know what I mean), but it feels similar in that respect. Better plotted, more controlled, but similar.

There was a comment about adults being almost completely absent from the comic, and that's true. Where are the teachers and parents in all this? Isn't anyone paying attention to the number of injuries and deaths in that class? Sheesh.

So, if you're looking for something that's shoujo-ish in looks and nature, but has a mystery-thriller type plot, this might be your manga. But, really, there are much better mystery-thriller manga out there. If you're hard up to kill some time, give it a try. But I still think it's too long, and would've done better to have been cut in half...

Really. I picked this up expecting worthless nonsense that I wouldn't have to think much about after a friend mentioned it. Truth be told, it's half-decent. The author knows how to build up suspense as well as the standard amounts of shoujo drama, so despite still being cliched it's genuinely fun to read.

A good one for more male-oriented suspense/mystery readers looking to broaden their horizons a bit and experience some shoujo flavor for once.

I thought this manga was only for "light reading" but it's much more than that. This manga has a lot of potential because it's art is beautiful and a totally detailed story line.
