Let'a Just Say The Cover is Decieving

Well, at first I neglected reading this because it looked like any other shoujo cover and all romance with some over complicated drama, but then I read the first chapter and was like "This is a hidden goldmine!" Well, not really, but I was definitely surprised how the saying "never judge a book by its cover" really came into effect! lol

this is not like some other shojo manga it have a really good mystery! I verry like this series. It remind of some shonen mystery story such as Shibatora. It like a shojo drawing with a shonen story line. so good~!

Interesting cult-like mystery with lackluster ending

I used to love this series in middle school (it gives off a freeform/CW type air). I still love it, and I think there are really good aspects and not so great aspects.

The best part of the series surrounds "King Time." They made it really feel like a cult, especially with the attitude of Arisa's best friend. I loved the cell-phone aspects of it, it felt ahead of its time and could easily be translated to current day with smartphones. The mystery involving the king was really fun and mystery scenes kept me very engaged. Tsubasa was a great lead character, and almost all of the other characters in the story had a sense of moral grey areas, which is always super fun.

The ending kinda went off the rails and the hospital scene with the King was just, it was just frustrating. The explanation for the king's actions was good but convoluted as well so expect to be confused.

If I had the option to change the series I would change quite a bit, but I still love this series. I would especially recommend it to middle schoolers and early high schoolers because it has many elements that I enjoyed at that age.

Intriguing, but cops out in the end

When I first read this, I have to say I found it quite gripping, and was continually shocked that such a gritty shojo plot ran in, of all things, Nakayoshi (targeted to elementary school kids). In a lot of ways it seemed like the shojo Mirai Nikki, although it's not nearly as graphic.

But in the end, perhaps because it IS a Nakayoshi title, the story never fully embraces it's dark potential and goes the redemption route instead…. It's worth reading the once if you like shojo horror/psychological stories that aren't gory, but you may be disappointed by

the character's quick forgiveness of each other and finding out that past incidents were highly exaggerated, such as various characters implied to have been murdered were simply living elsewhere in fear...

I usually enjoy reading a series again a few years later to revisit the characters, but reading Arisa a second time didn't do much for me. I guess when you already know what's going to happen in a thriller, it loses it's, well, thrills…

But I respect the fact that the main character, Tsubasa, was not given a love interest. In a lot of ways, she's just "too cool" for it.

Not exactly what I expected, but it seems like the author is just making it up as she goes. All the twists don't really make sense unless the King is a new character, which is really stupid in these kinds of stories, as far as I'm concerned. I might come back when it is completed, but for now ARISA is dropped. :l

Good but keeps repeating stuff

It was good for the first few chapters, but the author keeps repeating stuff D: She throws in a character and makes the readers think that chara is the king then proves that chara isn't. Then the cycle repeats several times. A potentially good manga if the author would stop doing that haha XD

though i don't know where the romance in this manga is, i really like it because i'm intrigued with the plot. with the recent chapter, the king is finally made known. but what i'm curious about is how this character does things... like the sudden disappearance of one of the teachers. this is NOT A SUPERNATURAL manga wherein the characters have powers.

it's a definite must read :)

FINALLY

I can finally say I finished this manga. It's been on my hold list for years as I got sick of the cliff hangers and suspense and having to wait months before finding out what happens. It has been a tough road of suspense and drama and it really tugs at the heart strings. I can't say I liked the ending, but at least it felt complete. I want to keep my rating at a 10 because it's been a great manga, but it is definitely confusing. Parts of it still do not make as much sense to me, but overall, not a bad read.

ok was good at first i was expecting enough of romance which was hardly in this manga only crazy and low life people only thinking of them self and blamed others when something went wrong about how they were used not even thinking about what they did.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
plus when Arisa eventually woke up i knew the things would go the way they did, that she would lose her memories cuz of thw shock or she pretending to forget her memories
and Arisa telling her sister at school her wish is for Tsubasa her twin to disappear made me want to beat the shit out of her!
only thing bugged me was that our main heroin Tsubasa had no boyfriend at the end even though she was starting to have feeling for her sister's boyfriend but only cuz he was misleading her of course. i thought Manabe and Tsubasa would be a pair or something but didn't seem like that even though they did have a very nice chemistry together....

i was hoping to see them paired up at the end oh will this was many way not the romance kind of manga to being with
