Overall ok but nosedive final

I was into it for like the first 2/3s but then we get a whole bunch of softcore, random turns, a time skip, shit deaths on screen, deaths off screen(these were garbage and rift witch can go off herself). It just stopped being readable, I mean I read it and im 3/4s though it let's just finish it. The only positive from finishing it is that Touta actually gets some real depth right at the end their but for the most part we don't get to see much of it ffs....

Artwork is well done. Story, not so much.

The story would be one dimensional if it weren't so rough. It pretty much revolves around the protag getting stronger but doesn't actually show him getting stronger. It skips over his struggles and just goes straight to the points where he gets his badass "look at me now" scene. The closest he gets to a struggle is those random times where he goes rage mode and grows a tail. Outside of that the story is pretty much just fanservice episodes.
By far the best the series has gotten was during his battle with his grandpa, and that, too, was immediately following a fanservice episode.

Lacking

Decent start, but gets boring soon enough, I can't say much about the story being a sequel since I only watched Negima's first 2 animes (and over 10 years ago) and never bothered with the manga, so I don't know how it measures up or how well it continues the story.
In any case, the main char is very annoying and almost retarded, I guess it's a good excuse for the author so he doesn't have to explain why the characters does this or that, "nah he's just dumb and impulsive" how convenient. Equally convenient are his sudden power-ups in fights which ruin any kind of pleasure one could get from the "growing stronger" tag.
The magic that allows for anything to happen is usually the type of setting I dislike the most, when anything is possible it's very hard for a story to make sense, I prefer settings which are restricted by rules, makes for a much more interesting world building. Not to mention the complete disregard for physics, that heavy sword usage has so many problems I won't even bother mentioning them.
And above all, it's just another crap series about not killing your enemies. They go killing kids and destroying a city but they have to contain themselves because... they, our "heroes", are immortal monsters?? that doesn't make sense, sorry. They don't even seam to capture the bad guys, just let them go so they can try to kill them again in the future.
Dropped and for good probably.

Good so far

This is really great so far, i love the whole concepts of different immortals and the interesting fights and abilities. The art is a bit weird for me cause its unique or im just used to others but its still pretty good. One of the best things about this series is that it can stand on its own two feet. I randomly started reading this once day not knowing much about it and the beginning intro showed that it was connected to the first series but it took its own turn. I haven't finished or even started the first series (i know some details from the anime though and spoilers) but i find it great that i can read this without out much knowledge of the first and theres no real disconnection from me. Plus the first series (from what i heard) started im a more Romance magic harem thing to later become a good fantasy action series later but this starts of being mainly action and fantasy based which is great in my opinion. I feel like Unlike me who hasnt finished the first series a lot of commenters have a issue with this cause the just want a pure continuation of the first series while this is something on its own; so their not really giving this a fair shake. So anyway yea looking forward to seeing more of this. And i will start the first one soon or later cause of this.

Fun sequel, but a bit different.

Based on how squeals go, the author decided to start off with a new MC and mostly new supporting cast in the same universe only 80 years after the prequel. Very risky, but I dig it since the author is showing his amazing ability to add lots of personality to this new crew albeit borrowing a few characteristics from the older cast. The MC has such a nice happy-go attitude without being another idiotic Naruto that it's refreshing.

Also rebooting the cast was probably the author's need to figure out how to reset the power levels that were ramped up to extremely high levels at the end of the prequel. Also all the mysteries from the prequel adding to the current plot is being handled well. Nothing wrong with this manga so far as of chapter 80.

I don't see why people are constantly comparing this to Negima, they both have different plots and different main characters! This manga is solid and engaging on its own-- I got into this without even realising it was a Negima 'sequel', and even then I don't know much about Negima.

It's exciting and fun, despite its shounen ideals. Admittedly the start was pretty rocky, but it got a lot better; the concept of immortal 'bodyguards' is pretty damnnnn interesting.

Likeable characters, clean well-done fights and great art. The pacing is refreshingly fast-- new scenes, new ideals and developments wham bam!

I also think its great that Touta has 'small' dreams. Nothing like 'I want to be the strongest' or 'I will be the best'. What 14 year old has a life goal anyways? I also find it great how 'ordinary' people are valued, you don't have to have crazy combat abilities to be amazing too.

I hope there aren't any long tedious training arcs or boring, drawn out fights.
So far (chapter 44) there have been no boring moments.

So yes, I've been surprised by the level of creativity of this manga. There are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES and things to be explored! This is the one to watch for. So much potential.

Well, I guess this is going to be cool. Being a sequel of Mahou Sensei Negima! gives its own plus point to me. But man, blades everywhere, this one really aims for shounen genre huh?

I'm not normally one to comment on manga, I mostly rate the ones that I like and I'm good. But with this one, I read a few so I feel like giving a little for it since this one seems to have a bit of a bad written review pile going.

It's not the best manga in the world. But it is a good one. Considering how dark all the manga I've been reading lately, it was nice to have something light again in all the deep and twisted plots. This had a little bit of a rocky start, but I think it's starting to make grounds for a good story.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The main character doesn't seem to really have much ground for motivation, but at the same time, that also enables to the story to have more potential to grow. (though as much to fail also). It makes me want to see what he finds to put his all into, seeing as at the moment, he is putting his all into finding something to do with himself. It is rather sweet I think.

Pretty much, I have hopes of this becoming a nice read. Heck, it was already enough to keep a smile one my face and wanting more.

Being immortal... Body frozen in the same state... Yet... You have to train at swinging a sword, in other words - grow muscles. in a 'frozen' body, right? Right???!!! :D Naughty, naughty shounen...

I didn't read prequel, still had no problems understanding what's going on. That's a good thing I guess.

Art is nice. That's another good thing.

It's generic, at least in my opinion, but then again I had my fair share of shounen already so it's hard to surprise or excite me. There's nothing to hate, but nothing to be hyped about either.

Edit: The more chapters are getting released, the more I start to like it, heh.

A unneeded sequel to fanboys
by Sukets

Well, as the title say, this is just a sequel so that he can leech even more money from his fanboy's... And the worst, his fanboys even defend him!

I agree that this may not be bad enough to win a 1, but definitely is not worth a 10. I won't even ask how this got this many 10.
While we are at it, I don't even remember anything being worth a 10, and is because of brainless voters like this, that a bayesian average is needed.

At the same time I don't think that this is the worst manga I ever saw, I also don't think it is worth the trees that are cut, for this to be printed over.
