I'm a HUGE InuYasha fan. The character, the plot, the action, and the romance. I'm always looking for manga comparable to it. But I've hit a road block. I'll probably have read a lot of those suggested, but please oh PLEASE help me find one!

The Twelve Kingdoms (anime is also good) - Girl is transported to a feudal world where everyone is after her. She finds she is special. I recommend this because the general plot is similar, there is a lot of good character development and there is a strong fantasy element (she has demon familiars). An excellent fantasy.

Koori no Mamono no Monogatari - Warning! Shounen ai! (that means there is a non-explicit relationship between the two male leads). Very similar xD About a slightly dense guy who goes to die in a cave where a demon has been imprisoned in for the past several hundred years. He releases the demon, and accompanies him on various adventures.

7 Seeds Seconded! There aren't 1:1 matches on the characters, and the setting is different. There is a large cast of very endearing characters though, and some romance. The story is epic, and very well written.

Kamisama Hajimemashita

Though it doesn't have the epicness of Inuyasha, the main characters always remind me of Inuyasha characters. Plus, it even has the dog demon thing going for it. Oh, and shrines too! smile

Kanata Kara
Choubaku Mahouden Slayers - I think Lina Inverse and Inuyasha are kind of similar - the anime is quite fun

I literally cry thinking of its awesomeness. >_____<

Try reading Basara. The character, plot and romance, you got them all. 7 seeds is far more superior though.
I'm not a fan of Inuyasha but you'll probably like this:
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Superior

Fushigi Yuugi - similar plot
1/2 Prince - similar type of humor, I guess
Boku no Chikyuu wo Mamotte - similar characters
Sennen no Yuki - similar character relations
Kyoukai no Rinne - same author, similar manga
Mugen Densetsu Takamagahara - interesting, but kinda childish, similar plot
Rurouni Kenshin - similar characters
Natsume Yuujinchou, Hyakki Yakoushou - youkai

unrelated, but I think you may like these:
Oresama Teacher
Saiyuki
The Prince's Cactus
Double Arts
Basara
Katana

Joousama no Inu different plot but it has a dog demon and a girl bossing him around.
Hyakkiyakou Juliet this is a oneshot, it doesn't have a lot of action or plot, but one of the characters seems to be InuYasha's twin, he looks like him and has a similar personality.
