I've been looking for another really good manga with a great story that takes place on a massive scale and or has multiple stories going on at the same time. I'm looking for something where the author isn't afraid to introduce as many characters as they want as long as they are all able to have their own personality. I'm not really looking for another naruto or one piece, something more like Maoyuu Maou Yuusha or Mahou Sensei Negima! is just what I want, even MX0 was something I thoroughly enjoyed even if it's scale looses me I catch up with the characters eventually. I don't mind ecchi though it's not required and really would love it if it has one or multiple romances going on at the same time.

Don't rly want to think but ill add trace tbh I'm in a comedy rut atm so I never caught up with current release, but it had a largescale story, multiple stories, AND a lot of chars. So should work.... until death do us part probably not the name but w/e, hoping for a miracle. Blind swordsman and a small girl that predicts future jic I got the name wrong and the next poster knows what I'm talking about.... anyway it fits well as well

But beelzebub may be a better pick for you as most of your reference material is less serious than those 2.

The most that you all are suggesting are classic shounen.Trydorohedoro

Banana Fish keeps adding characters, everyone totally unique, and it's plot is deep and complex rather than having multiple plot lines.

Full Metal Alchemist - I would say this has a lot of unique characters and multiple plots (though they do all tie in together).

Full Metal Panic! (Novel) - I wouldn't say the cast is bursting, but the author doesn't seem to shy away from adding new characters. There are multiple novels, each with it's own story in a way, but the main plot flows through each book, and later books are dedicated to the main plot line. There are also multiple romances.

E's - Again, lots of unique characters with a deep plot and side arcs and hints of romance (though it's not really the main story)

Psychic Academy - Been a while since I read this (it was one of my first manga, so it really has been ages), but I'm pretty sure it had a fair few characters. I would liken it to a more ecchi Mx0.

Inuyasha - The author is always introducing new characters, except they are usually baddies and are usually quickly dispatched, so it's not really taxing to keep track. There are a few romances going on as side stories. I would say this is in the same pool as Naruto and Bleach, so may not be what you're looking for.

7 Seeds for sure! A truly epic post-apocalyptic series, with some romantic relationships around for extra tension ^^;, but thankfully never in a stupid way.

There's also Ooku by Yoshinaga Fumi - an AU of Japanese history in which most men die of a plague" ^^;. An immensely interesting historical drama centered on relationships, many of which are romantic.

Also, I'm surprised no one's recommended anything by Urasawa Naoki yet - his series don't really involve romance, but he's famous for big-scale plots and large casts, as well as being the master of suspense. His most well-known series are 20th Century Boys, Monster, and Pluto.

Lastly, I know you asked for manga, but the anime Baccano, and Durarara are some of the most entertaining things I've watched for a while. Both were originally light novels written by the same author, who seems to love writing huge casts of eccentrics, and playing with timelines.

I will second works by Urasawa as suggested by ah_chan. Try Eden: It's an Endless World! too by the same author. The manga has multiple stories, overlapping generations, multiple ethnicity and conflicts.

1/2 Prince / 1/2 Prince (Novel) - 50+ characters and counting~

I recommend 1/2 Prince , Angel Densetsu and Noblesse. Those are my favorite 😉
And not sure about the epic part but also Absolute Witch or Ciel are good, it's shoujo but has some potencial 🙂
