I dunno why, but I've been craving something a little different.

Not like "spunky-and-talks-back-and-fights-with-male-lead", I mean b*tchy like manipulative, steals boyfriends, sleeps around etc. If you've read [m]Six-Half[/m], kind of like Shii-chan before she lost her memory. Of course, she has a heart of gold or ~love~ changes her or has a reason for her behavior. (Or else I would just hate her the whole time. xD)

If no one knows anything that extreme, then a independent female lead that has control of her body, has a career/job, and makes her own choices. (Not saying she has to be uptight! For some reason, some people think those three things together = stick in the mud) I'm thinking something like No Free Time to Get Dirty or from Yukari from Futago.

I hope that was clear. Reading that back, I can see I wasn't amazingly clear on what I was looking for but just recommend like crazy!

The main girl there is more crazy than independent to me. xD

I did, strangely, like it.

aisuru hito she is a bitch and sleep with both of male leads , and steal someone else's husband , but i dont know if this is like what you are looking for
devil and her love song not manipulative , just always telling the truth
Hana wa Knife o Mi ni Matou
Bunbetsu to Takan
heroine shikkaku .. shes just hilarious laugh
monkey strip
just in case you havent read kimi wa pet shes indeed independent
Keishichou Tokuhanka 007 not a bitch ... but i think the female lead is great

I read Aisuru Hito and it was okay. I just thought she was indecisive and annoying with the mistress thing. I should have clarified that the main girl needs to have a backbone and isn't hopelessly lovesick, in any story. >___<;;

I'll take a look at the others. They all sound really good...Guess who's not sleeping tonight? (Lucky tomorrow is a holiday!) xD Thanks~

Bunbetsu no Takan sounds like it'd be what I'm looking for, just gotta see how the girl handles it. Hana wa Knife wo Mi ni Matou just looks like a good read, regardless if it's in my range. xD

Heroine no Shikkaku is the one I'm reading first!! The art looks good and the story sounds promising. Hopefully she doesn't turn out to be a crybaby. ); I've read Seigi no Mikata is good too!

The protagonist in Kisshou Tennyo is incredibly manipulative and cunning. She gets the better of all of men who try to harm her and bend her to their wills.

I read Kisshou Tenyou a while back. It's not exactly what I'm looking for but still a good read. <3

@Candicane: I saw that (and Gold) but didn't know if they were worth it. It sounds like a soap opera. I'll put it in my to-read list. I love stuff like that on a rainy day. xD

oh, then in that case have you read Helter Skelter? The female lead is quite nasty.

Stories in which heroines fits most/all of the criteria of the first request:
Dear Friends
Deep Love - Ayu no Monogatari
Torikagosou no Kyou mo Nemutai Juunintachi
Talking About...

While the female leads manipulate certain of their abilities/looks in certain situations, other than that, they don't really fit the kind of picture you describe. All of them are refreshing female leads and don't fit the typical naive, cry-baby shoujo lead mold:
Ciel
Seigi no Mikata (the drama is really good as well) (just realized this was already mentioned, so seconded)
Warau Kanoko-sama

And for an "independent female lead that has control of her body, has a career/job, and makes her own choices", see below:
Bitou Lollipop *by the same author of Futago and Six Half
Kimi Wa Pet (seconded)
Cheese in the Trap
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Nodame Cantabile

Binbougami ga! It's a hilarious shonen, and the heroine is a major bitch. The antagonist is another bitch btw.

In B gata H kei there is some bitching too, this one is a 4koma.

I would also recommend you Franken Fran, but call Fran a bitch would be a missunderstanding. This has some twisted humor sense.

Sorry for not linking them, I hope you enjoy the read.

Recommends

Silver by Fujita Kazuko
Chouchou Kumo(Butterfly Cloud) by Ashihara Hinako

Where female protagonists turn bitchy for a reason. biggrin
