I want a manga where either a girl or a guy cross dresses for his or her own reasons. I give you extra happy points if they are extremely attractive as the opposite sex. My inspiration was when I was watching mulan and she went past the rice fields and the woman picking the rice were giggling at her, because they thought she was hot
If it's not in medieval times put a star by it ;D

kaze Hikaru - historical- crossdressing girl.
Kakan no Madonna - I've got this one on my reading list but havent read it, it's historical and involves cross dressing, but thats about all I know.
saver* - I would say it is 'historical-like' because it involves a girl who cross dresses to hide her gender who comes from another world. oh... and a lot of girls and guys happen to find her very attractive as whatever gender she decides to take on.
Basara* - another 'historical-like' one, even though it's more accurately described as post- apocalyptic. involves a girl cross-dressing to lead an army in place of her brother. As I recall as well, there were some girls who did find her good looking in her cross-dressing state.

you might have already read these, but hope they help a little.

not a manga but........ever seen Mulan?

but other then that i'd say uh.......

Versailles no Bara (never read, but it's suppose to be good)

and Fushigi Yuugi (saw the anime it's fits your description pefectly)

also i'd recommend the 12 Kingdoms Anime (main character cross dresses as a man)....if you're into anime and haven't seen it

here's a link http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=26

Watch the Le Chevalier D'Eon anime ; it's historical, genderbender (attractive either genders), supernatural, sword fighting, split personalities and based on real historical people. XD
There's also the Le Chevalier D'Eon manga. But honestly, the anime is WAY better.

Second Chevalier D'Eon anime, the manga and the anime plots aren't even very similar.

I second Basara. Saver fits but I thought it was horrible.

Not historical, but Power!*, Uwasa no Midori-kun*, and Tokyo Crazy Paradise*? First two are typical girl in a guy's school shoujos, but TCP is fantastic.

I second Kaze Hikaru, but only because it fits your description well. I thought it was pretty boring, and the main girl was annoying.. :/
