When at the beginning where Syaoran goes to meet the witch and he didn't have anything to give up to the witch and in return to save Sakura he gave his love to the witch to save Sakura.
When the women that the guy loved died trying to save their daughter. Been a while since I've read this manga so I don't really remember their names.
When Haku died. I cried. Or when Gaara was taken by the Akatsuki and he was about to die. Sasori's death was sad too. The third Houkage's death was also sad.

here's another series that has some heartbreaking scences...
after winning the match against udou, Makito Koenji waves his bloody hand to Yui Sonezaki presenting her the win that she deserved, while Yui was crying..
when Yui Sonezaki was crying because she thought that Makito Koenji has left her alone and won't come back... (volume 2) and when she jumps the window just to save Makito
when Udou blind sister finally realized to use her hands to compensate for her blindness, after eating the curry made by Makito with just barehands...
When the curry house was burned down....they both cried at the hospital's cafetiria...

One thing, though... I rarely cry. My heart does feel painful and maybe I shed a few tears but rarely do I cry more than that. 🙂

Firstly, the scene where Hiroko and Akira are talking while waiting for Shiina.
This is heartbreaking in retrospect and on rereading - it looks like a positive scene - but ... well, then shit hits fan and everything after that recasts it in an upsetting light.
And then there's Shiina confronting Hiroko. 'You can't save everyone with kindness'.
But to ram it home - when Shiina's father assures her that Hiroko will be found safe.
... brb, something in my eye.
Also: Battle Royale. No sense mentioning specific scenes.

The ending of Karin. Wow did that hit hard and unexpected.
They build up strong family's bonds and relationships, showing how much they cared for Karin, to the point of risking the extinction of their own race. Then in the end after everything was over, her own family erases themselves from her memory so she could live normally. It hit especially hard when she was asked about her family later and replied "But i've always been an orphan...."
