And once again, I shall post this comic for all to see. For previous reactions, go here and here.

Also, nothings really scarred me when it comes to manga. I will say that the goriest one that I have read I believe is Franken Fran. I eventually got tired of the series.

biggrin Wow, i definitely wasn't expecting that to happen. Comics usually don't behave this way.

Because of how sexualised some manga and anime are (western TV as well) I have slowly come to be disgusted by men. I wouldn't say it scarred me for life but through the joint efforts of these things and some males I know personally, I have become unable to ever consider entering into a relationship with a male other than one of friendship. The thought of doing anything with a male, aside from non sexual hugging and holding of hands sees a shiver of horror down my spine and makes me gag.

Sigh, I used to like guys, but now I have to tell my parents that I'm gay.

Just seeing the image kind of scared me. Well, I just got scarred. This is like a trap thread, isn't it?

Mai-chan no Nichijou [aka. Mai-chan's Daily Life]

This is one is notorious and I went back and forth for a long time before I finally decided to read it. I'd actually read some guro before (well beyond Franken Fran levels) so I figured it wouldn't be THAT bad, but this........this was just horrible on every possible level. It pretty much desensitized me to anything else like it (thankfully I didn't read much guro before and haven't read any since).

That manga is a perfect example of "What Has Been Seen Cannot Be Unseen" and I actually wish I hadn't read it. Even thinking back on it now is a little disturbing.

The only manga I can think of that left a "scar" is The Enigma of Amigara Fault in Gyo by ITOU Junji. There's just something incredibly off putting for me, and it's the only one shot that seriously left an impression on me by reading the synopsis for it from Wikipedia. I read it, and it was even worse than I had imagined. It's the only manga that I can't think about without sending shivers down my back.

Scar is too strong of word to use IMO.

That said, I've certainly been disturbed. When I was younger, I once read an alternative history manga (I don't remember the name) about WWII and the plot was basically "Japan wins WWII and conquers the world." Except the manga was very gory and brutally upfront about the Japanese military's mentality and behavior during WWII; with scenes like U.S. leaders being publicly beheaded, ALL of mainland USA being conquered and Hitler kowtowing to Emperor Hirohito (go big or go home I guess).

Gantz was pretty scarring for me. I had a similar experience to you in that I thought I could handle it at the time and...I was wrong. Once I got past all the smut scenes (and the drawing improved), it wasn't so bad though and I feel like I've matured enough to take it. I still avoid any hentai, ecchi, or intensely gory manga now though no

I remember reading this manga called Uzumaki . I was bored and that was the last manga of all the mangas in the library that I haven't read. SO, I borrowed and I ,unfortunately, read it at night. I felt so sick like I was going to puke any second after finish reading it ;-; Since then... I was sick for a whiiiiile T-T It was painful and horrible.

Scarred by any manga or anime? No
Scared by any manga or anime? Yes, once. The one mentioned in Transdude1996Post #589253.

I will look through all the manga on this thread, and back may possible write YES that one scarred me.
