Hello...
I'm looking for a manga, anime or graphic novel where a SINGLE traumatic incident completely changes the protagonist's life - a total paradigm shift, after which they become like a completely different person. Like in the Batman comics, where a young Bruce Wayne sees his parents being killed in front of him and that completely changes his life; he ends up becoming a superhero who dedicates his life to fighting crime. Or The Crow, who is forced to watch his girlfriend being raped and killed, and thus turns into a vengeful vigilante with clinical depression...
Doesn't have to be like that, exactly - I mean, the protagonist doesn't have to become a hero or anything exaggerated like that - but they DO have to change completely and irrevocably. Like, they were Person A before the trauma, and changed into Person B after the trauma. A complete and total personality change...
Any genre except hentai is welcome.

First thing I thought of was Limited Lovers. Been a bit since I read it, but seems to fit what you're asking for. Though, maybe not enough of a change, if not, you'll know in the first chapter or so anyway, so you can stop there!

Vinland Saga, definitely. For these, I'm not sure:
Ao no Futsumashi
Savage Garden
Gantz
And Sasuke from Naruto

I'd like to add Kuroshitsuji and Kaze Hikaru to the list, as well - both protagonists lost their families to fire (and murder), and set out to avenge them with considerably different post-trauma personalities (and, in the case of KH, even a gender-bending identity).

Sumeragi Subaru from Tokyo Babylon and X/1999. Though he doesn't change until the very end of Tokyo Babylon and then you see him again in X/1999 (He is an important side character in X, though he is the main in Tokyo Babylon). He definitely changes drastically though.

Gurren Lagann - I think it's 2 major changes, but they are within a volume's time so this might be what you are looking for, maybe. Based off an anime, though I'm not sure what the anime is like compared to this (I don't watch anime).
Change 123
Kurohime - I think this might fit, might not.
Archlord -
Threads of Time - I guess there could be, technically, two cases of this happening here. The second makes sense nearing the end of the series.
Gekkoh
Also, this isn't the protagonist, but I though I'd put it here anyways, Kamui.
Besides manga:
Spawn - An antihero you might have heard of.
American Born Chinese - A graphic novel that is well worth a read. Everything wraps up at the end.

At the end, for both main male characters.

The anime and manga are very much the same. Basically no or minuscule differences. Same art too.
