looking for new suggestions

In addition to my other topic, I thought I'd also see if there was any completely new stuff to add to my list.
Essentially, what I'm looking for this time is an action manga featuring a girl who is strong and competent and can fight (preferably on the same level as any male characters). It doesn't have to be the main character, just a prominent supporting character. She can be a sexy ecchi girl, a cute moe girl, a loli, a Claymore-esque warrior type, or just a kinda normal girl so long as she meets the requirements.
I definitely prefer shounen/seinen manga. I tend to dislike harems, but if the manga is good and still fits, I might be willing to overlook it. If it has even the slightest yuri vibes that's a good thing.
Please make sure you check my reading list as most of the stuff you're thinking about now probably is already there. Also, check this anime list to make sure I'm not watching the anime already. If I am and you still think I should read the manga, you should probably tell me in my other topic.

Well if you consider sports to be close enough to action then I suggest Tetsuwan Girl.

You know, I never even really tried reading a sports manga. It just doesn't seem like it'd interest me. I typically like stuff more distanced from reality. That said, I do like baseball, so I guess if I get little else in the way of suggestions, I just might try it. Thanks

Girl fighting, that's definitely Tokyo Crazy Paradise, it's labeled as gender bender, but that part has no importance since all the main characters know that she's actually a girl, and she kicks butts better than any guy in the manga.
I suppose that Show me the money has some potential too, but it doesn't have much romance. It wasn't quite on my taste, but at least the girl was very strong.
Well Hellsing is already a classic, but in case you didn't know it has two very strong women, and ya there's a lot of fighting, but they're not the main characters.
Amatsuki also has a very strong fighting girl, but the art might seem a bit off, let's say. Don't worry the story covers for it.
Rosario+Vampire is a harem, so it has lots of girl, but they all fight.
Matsuri Special it's a must from my point of view I really love it, but only 10 chapters have been released until now.

Hmm, well, I've never read non-yuri shoujo before, so I don't know what to think of the prospect. With something like Tokyo Crazy Paradise or Amatsuki, it's not all girlish romance, bishounen guys, flowery art and stuff like that is it? I'm pretty desperate for new series to read, but I've always been a little wary of shoujo.
Show me the Money isn't listed as an action series. Is there actual fighting there or is the girl just a strong character?
WIth the mention of Hellsing, I should probably add that checking my completed list is a good idea too.
And finally, I've always assumed that Rosario + Vampire was conventional harem trash. Is the main character interesting or cool, or is he just one of those generic indecisive losers who doesn't deserve the attention he gets?

It's a pretty average manga, it suffers from lots of cliches. The main character is pretty much the loser incorporated into harems, although he changes a little as it gradually goes along. But not enough to read it, although all the girls chasing after him are strong as hell.
Here's some that might fit what you're looking for:
Ga-rei- the main girl is actually as important as the main male, and she's strong too. Also, the main guy isn't your typical loser, and he's pretty cool at time. The main girl is a nice normal high-school girl on the outside, but is pretty much the character you're looking for when she gets serious/goes on her missions. Some hints of romance doesn't hurt too. And the new arc right now, is just interesting, and it has very good action and not much crap.
Shinseiki Evangelion- the main guy looks like a typical bored loser in the beginning, but he gets pretty strong later. The main character[Shinji] is whiny and emo and annoying sometimes, but it's very realistic, showing what most guys under that kinda psychological pressure face against. The main girls in the anime are strong girls, trained to fight, although they each all have their problems, and they all work together to fight against the "Angels". They all undergo great character development, and all the girls in the manga are just badass, and their attitudes are pretty realistic when you think about it.
Air Gear? Didn't see that on your list, the women in that manga is fucking strong/badass, as well as on par with many of the male characters. The women play very important roles, and you even get to see the main hero/heroine face-off against each other later on =].
Tista- short manga, but pretty good. The girl is badass, although she acts as a normal girl outside, she's really a hitman.
That's all I can think of from the top of my mind right now, if I get more, I'll post some. Hope I helped.

Ga-Rei actually looks pretty good. I couldn't really get into the anime version when I tried to watch that, but I've heard that they're very different so that shouldn't matter. I'll add it to my list.
I've seen Evangelion (the anime). I'm pretty sure most everyone has. I never really considered the manga before. There was a lot about the anime I didn't care for.
I should probably read Air Gear. I don't see why I'm avoiding it anymore.
I remember trying to read Tista once, having a difficulty getting into it and giving up halfway through the first chapter. I think I might give it a second chance now.

Wow, I never even heard of any of your suggestions. And here I didn't think I'd get anything new out of this.
Bambi and her Pink Gun looks good, but the fact that it's been 573 days since the last update makes me a little unsure.
Maken X Another might be good. The ratings say it's pretty average. Might as well give it a try though. It is fully scanned.
Killco, if you say it fits, might as well try it.
Freesia I'm not so sure about. Again it's been awhile since a chapters come out, and if you say I have to wait to get my strong fighter girl, it might not be worth it.

More series I haven't heard much about. Let's see
Angle Heart might be all right. Art style doesn't quite look like my thing, but I'm willing to try it.
Gunnm sounds like a good possibility.
Dogs seems like it'd be good too.
Mother Sarah seeming to stop just a couple volumes before completion would probably bug me.
Pilgrim Jager looks awesome, but only 3 volumes were scanned.
And finally, Karasuma Kyouko no Jikenbo, at first glance is a definite yes.
Thanks a lot for the suggestions everybody.

Are you sure all those match what I'm looking for? I said I wanted an action series with at least one prominent, strong female character. A lot of those aren't labeled as action, so that makes me wonder as to whether the rest of what I was asking for was considered as well.

Okay. I really am mostly just looking for action series though. I want girls who are actually strong fighters, not girls who just have strong personalities.
Anyway, out of your suggestions, I have considered quite a bit reading Elfen Lied before. I watched the anime (it's another I probably should have added to my is the manga worth reading topic). I'll definitely think about that.
Other than that, I can't say much else appeals to me. I've considered Fairy Tail before, but starting long-running shounen is always hard for me. I'm also watching the To Aru Majutsu no Index anime right now (and reading the Mikoto-centric side story) so I think I got that covered, but perhaps I may check out the original manga eventually.
Jack Frost sounds like it might be good though. I'll probably check that out.
