Midorikawa Yuki! I love her stories!
For art: Kakinouchi Narumi
I'm also very fond of Zero-Sum authors and artists; if I see their work in Arcana, I'll check out their serializations, and vice-versa.

Yuki Kaori definitely. If I were a mangaka, I'd love to create exactly the kind of manga she creates. Which is a roundabout way of saying we seem to share a lot of preferences, fetishes, and favorites.

Aki ♥
I have a hidden stash of anything related to her works. I also stalk her. Apparently she's in the Czech Republic right now! [According to her latest tweets. I don't literally stalk her. I think...] Her plots and art are just... Amazing
There's also Nao Tsukiji. I'm hoping to start a collection of her works soon and maybe stalk her Twitter when she makes one or if I find it.

Let's see....
ANDO Yuki. Gosh, I love her. What I love most is that she feels unique. Somewhat stark, and specializes in drier, more calm/stoic female leads, yet even within her cutest stories there's this feeling of... again "stark" I guess is the word I'm looking for. A sharp roughness. Very refreshing. Oh, also, gorgeous. By the way.
[a]Sahara Mizu[/a]-- I love her art, I love her stories, I love My Girl (Sahara Mizu) but also her oneshots... She has this breezy achy gorgeous feel to almost all her work.
The best thing about Kawahara Kazune is that her manga-- at least all the ones of hers that I've loved-- give off this really cheerful, optimistic feel. Her protagonists always try hard and improve themselves and are honest, sincere people. Her males don't feel over-idealized, either. Her siutations can be cliche, but
1. they tend to have twists or subversions worked in
2. the characters within the cliche are so likable you don't care
[a]Wataru Yoshizumi[/a] (Random Walk, Spicy Pink, Cappuccino) puts her characters through muliple relationships, AND lets them fall apart, often quite realistically. Not all shoujo mangaka are willing to do that, and it makes her series that much more interesting to read.
Nakamura Yoshiki is, of course, most famous for Skip Beat, but what I like about her is consistent through all three of her mangas (that I've read)--- it's the ability to somehow convey intensity within a female character's expression/stance to the point of taking my breath away.
I've mentioned this like a trillion times in other threads, but what I adore about Nakahara Aya is that, while her set-ups might be very predictable, her characters are always incredibly fun and funny so you really enjoy the journey from point A to the inevitable point D. and, oh god, the range of expressions she bestows on them is amazing. I have serious love for her expressions.
Kusanagi Mizuho is overall just a... solid author. It's not that she does anything breathtaking, but she does stretch the borders of the box, bothers to put together reasonable plotlines as well as do some worldbuilding (something many shoujo mangaka laze out on), her relationships, while standard, are enjoyable, and she's just someone I can rely on for a solid if not fantastic read.
I've been enjoying [a]Tsujita Ruriko[/a] (Warau Kanoko-sama thus far.
Sakisaka Io seems to have pretty solid characters, even if the setups are cliche...
[a]Akemi Fujii[/a] (Ashita mo Kitto Koishiteru is pure brain fluff. There's drama/angst, but it always ends ridiculously adorably so I end up going along with it with a smile (I'm a sucker for head-over-heels male leads, okay?)
Toma Rei has gorgeous art. Not particularly great storylines, but gorgeous art.

dunno why some of my author tags aren't working. tried multiple spellings of the names, too. oh well-- i tried to put in manga titles by the authors whose links were broken, so you could get to them that way...
