I really can't stand anymore stereotypes, so I'm looking for a manga with something really different, like really deep, interesting characters, or a plot you would never have guessed, etc. I understand that pretty much every story has some stereotypes, but there are different ways to tell the same story. Preferably the author has put a lot of thought into it (subtleties in expression, detail, etc), and there is a greater point to be made, but entertainment is always good. Short, long, one-shots, dj, any genre is fine, as long as it's different from the rest.

Thanks!

ichi the killer quite simply f'ed up
black lagoon completely gets rid of the usual black and white good and evil stuff. Plus some of the characters are interesting.
usagi drop development near the end is VERY unexpected.

Hm... Tegami Bachi, maybe? It may not seem so at first, but I think it's quite a unique one... It's the only "unexpected" one I can think about now...

Definitely recommend,
Pandora Hearts
Nabari no Ou
They are my two favorite manga and are absolutely stunning!

Also would include the following titles. This is hard because I don't know your interests, but these manga either have or seem to have the elements you would want. I'm sure some can fit better then others, but from what I've read of them they are all different then the norm and (for me at least) very enjoyable or at least thought provoking and interesting.
Are you Alice?
Shoukoku no Altair
Ikoku Meiro no Croisée
Shounen Oujo
Love So Life
A Fairytale for the Demon Lord
Nabi
Ensemble (Yubi)
Fullmetal Alchemist
Olimpos
Tom Sawyer
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan
Red Raven
Karneval
Donten ni Warau
Ability Shop
Akatsuki no Fumi
Ibara no Majutsushi
I Am a Piano
Long Along Alonging
Kyoushashou
Smargs Won't Sing
Stray Dog
We Can Fly!

The only one I can think of is Loveless. I don't think I've ever seen anything even remotely similar to it plot wise and I think the characters are all pretty unique as well. It's a personal favorite of mine.

Well, you could check out the recommendations in this thread. In addition to the series I recommended there, I'll add the following:

Tropical Citron
G (KOIKE Keiichi)
Garden (FURUYA Usamaru)
A Single Match

If you don't mind guro content, you could also try some oneshots by KAGO Shintaro; I'd recommend the following:

Abstraction
Closed Hospital
Everything's Peaceful
Multiplication

Warau Kanoko-sama and its sequel Koi Dano Ai Dano
Beauty Pop
1/2 Prince
Hatenkou Yuugi
Countrouble
Zippy Ziggy
Gosick (The anime is more complete than the manga...)
To aru Majutsu no Index (the whole set up is unique)

Also right now I'm reading Letter Bee and it is INCREDIBLY unique and different than anything else plot-wise and art-wise.
