I'm stuck to my computer...just kidding. My local library only has a small "graphic novels" section, hardly anything really. All it has is the first or second volume of select series, like Fushigi Yuugi, or a volume of Ultra Maniac. Not that big of a selection imo. But that's why the internet is here!~ biggrin

I haven't been to the public library in so long... I'm a firm believer in "if it's worth reading, it's worth buying." Unfortunately, my close friends all agree with this mantra, especially when it comes to manga. Between myself and my two closest friends, we have a combined private library of something like 8000 books/tankouban. Beats any public library I've been to.

Mine also has a small "graphic novels" section in the Young Adult section. There's not much actually. The main series that they have are Fruits Basket, Naruto, Seimaden, and Emma. I think that's all... Oh wait. I think they also have Moon Child the last time I was there, which was a while ago.

Coccyzus, that's not unfortunate at all biggrin Your and your friends' collection sounds awesome!

I'm working on my own library-sized collection, but occasionally I check out the manga and—gasp!—non-Japanese comics at my local library. They have a pretty decent selection (especially if you consider the titles available at the many other branches, which can be requested and picked up at your local branch if you're willing to wait a couple days for the transfer), and it's nice to check out titles that sound interesting but that I'm not quite ready to commit money to without a preview.

My only problem is that when I go there just to browse and see what looks interesting, I usually only find a volume 2 or 3 or 10-14, etc... rarely is the first volume on-shelf. But that's what the requesting system is for!

I've not visited a library in more than a decade.... but I think they should have some titles. (mostly Chinese translated)

A few. Just popular titles, and a few random volumes of others. Lack of Hana-Kimi for the fucking lose.

My local library is at my school and it has a ton of manga right at the front. I honestly don't see many people reading it though... more for me eyes

My high school had mostly Dragon Ball, some Evangelion, and they would have like one book each from random obscure series like Miracle Girls and My Sassy Girl.

The public library branch closest to my house has a manga collection that has increased like 1,000% since a few years ago. It used to be just some Whistle!, Prince of Tennis and Tokyo Mew Mew between some bookends, and now it's like... woah! They've got Black Cat, Hana-Kimi, President Dad, Kamichama Karin, Legendz, Hibiki's Magic, Cantarella, Yotsuba&!, Ouran Host Club, Et Cetera... plus Bleach and stuff of course.
Someone even wised up and made a separate section for adult graphic novels, like the works of Endo Hiroki.

I was inspired to this poll because I volunteered in the high school library for a semester and in the public library for a couple of years.

The library I frequently go to is an academic library at my uni, so go figure. No manga for me there. Since I'm on holidays now, I went to the local library, but there is nothing even resembling a comic, not to mention manga ;_;

I used to go to the library all the time...before high school. It just basically sucked my reading enthusiasm out of me, but I still volunteer there sometimes and I remember them having a couple of shelves of manga or "graphic novels." They just grouped Kare Kano and Fushi Yuugi along with marvel and DC comics. But it was the place where I first got into reading manga I guess.

My high school has Naruto, Bleach and the like.
