Child heroine

I would like a manga where the protagonist is a girl and a child. By child, I do not mean a teen in high school or anything over 14. I also already know about this topic: [url]http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3536&hl=child[/url] but I don't want that because it is a lot more general (reviving childhood type).
Want:
-a heroine with either a very cute personality (like Hana from Hana to Akuma) or a very silent and the "genius" type (maybe like Hotaru from Gakuen Alice or Haruhi from Host Club) or anything that isn't annoying
-hero or love interest (if there is one) to not be a wimp
**PLEASE DON'T RECOMMEND: **
-A taking care of child series (prefer if it isn't but fine if it is)
-tragedy
-yuri, yaoi
-ecchi, hentai (like Kodomo no Jikan and Mahou Sensei Negima)

Miiko Desu! I haven't read it yet - waiting for more scans since only the first volume is translated.
Yotsubato! only fits your request in that the main character is a 5 year old girl. It's not really on on-going story, though, just snippets of daily life and Yotsuba's often hilarious interpretations of it.
Otona ni Nuts girl is around 10. can't remember if she was annoying or not, though. it's a cute manga
