I really want a demon manga. It can be like a traditional asian demon like in Kamisama Hajimemashita or in the anime ''Mononoke"(favorite anime ever, EVER). OR a powerfull demon like in superior (favorite manga series), Hana to Akuma, Chikyuu Kanrinin, or Akuma to Dolce. You know, something on those lines.
I also really wouldn't mind something about gods, like The bride of the water god.
I wouldn't mind if there are both gods and demons in the manga, or if instead of gods and demons there are spirits (Fox spirits or cat spirits....).

Just keep in mind, something like:
Mononoke (Anime)
Kamisama Hajimemashita
Superior
The bride of the water god
Akuma to Dolce
Chikyuu Kanrinin

Seimaden maybe??

Natsume Yuujinchou is a really nice one about Japanese spirits. Also, I haven't read much of Mushishi but it seemed interesting and might apply—it deals with small "bug"-like spirits, but it had a traditional-Japanese mythology feel that might fit what you're looking for.

For demons, Watashi no Ookami-san is a rather cute and silly story about a hero (girl) and demon king.

Oh, and I recently watched the movie GeGeGe no Kitarou (based on the manga of the same name, but the manga isn't available in English). It's for a somewhat younger audience I think, with its goofy special effects and monster characters, but it was pretty fun if you're interested in tracking it down 😀

wow i totally agree with you i love demon/god manga's! they are just so much more fun to read because they have characters that are so different from normal. i liked all your favs and i am going to start reading them myself. let me give you a list of demon mangas that i have really loved reading:

seimaden -- this one is really good one of my fav mangas of all time (it does have a bit of shounen ai in it so i hope that doesn't bother you...

chrono crusade -- the anime and manga are good...in the manga is definitely different from the anime and i heard it has a different ending but i haven't finished the manga yet...if you decide to watch the anime, i recommend it in english, the va's are superb, and i don't like very many dubbed animes..like at all...lol

ubel blatt -- i don't really know if this is considered "demon" but there are certainly a lot of demon creatures and the main character isn't human...its really good tho, a great plot with good characters..it does have smut in it tho to warn you...

cantarella -- this is also one of my fav mangas of all time (by the same mangaka as seimaden actually) it also has a bit of shounen ai in it but nothing too big unfortunately it is licened so you can only get up to volume 8, but it is so good i want to buy it i really recommend this one.

crimson spell -- warning this is very hardcore yaoi so if you like that and demons, this is good...but seriously very hardcore, i personally skip the "bad" scenes lol, my poor little heart cant take the sex...lol

Chrno Crusade -> I second. Very highly recommended. Both manga and anime.
Vampire Game -> sort of. He's the vampire king, but imho he looks more a demon than a vampire.
