I want to find more manga like that or something like Fushigi yuugi (series). I tried reading REd River and From far Away but it wasnt very engaging...

Similar to Fuushigi Yuugi sorta plot... you could try Haruka (it's a reverse harem, so maybe that's not your thing) or Saver? I highly recommend Saver, it has awesome art and a unique female lead.
