To me, "Adult" always meant a manga that handles sexually mature topics or has sexually mature material, shown in a provocative/'sleazy' way.
For example, Bradherley no Basha was tagged as Adult (I untagged it), but I feel it isn't appropriate to tag it as such. It deals with traumatizing rape experiences which deserves the "Mature" tag, since that handles mature topics such as rape. I don't see anything "Adult"-like about it. It doesn't "glorify" sex nor look at it in a positive light. And whoever tagged Oyasumi Punpun as "Adult" is doing it wrong. >_> Again another manga, Sidooh isn't "Adult" either. One of the brothers gets raped, iirc. These kind of manga are using sexual situations to propel the characters' development forward, instead of Adult manga where it doesn't really serve a purpose. These adult situations are used as a device to show something to the reader and aren't the focus point of the manga.
Bleh, I'm sick of manga getting mislabeled so much...!
Gantz is an example of how you should tag an "Adult" series. The main protagonist bangs girls spontaneously throughout the story and lots of adult situations take place. Kind of displaying that it's the "cool" thing to do or something. Like I mentioned before, it didn't really do anything to further the plot or the character's development.

Girlfriend features a lot of adult situations, so it gets tagged as "Adult", despite that some of those adult situations further the characters' development, and instead of making the manga superficial it actually gives it more depth.
Nyatto! and Oretama don't deserve any explanation as to why they're adult. And Yuutai Nova fits the bill as well, even though it's more mature than the former two.
Yuri that feature a lot of adult scenes, like Maka-Maka, and yet still has some depth (so no smex yuri or something) deserve the "Adult" tag too.
Hmm... this has become a rant on how to label Adult series.

This site drastically needs some more clarification on the genres.
KEEP IN MIND, THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE LABELING OF HENTAI.
