as far as story and characters go, it's hard to imagine anything more generic or unmemorable. most shonen romance mangas share many common elements, but suzuka feels like someone took the genre, shoved it in a blender, then strained out any original or unique details, leaving only a puree of the old and unoriginal. i gave up shortly after the 'oh, i'm moving to america to train' gimmick (seriously, do they always have to move to america for a while to allow the male lead to develop some other transient romantic interest?).

i guess if you've never touched anything else in the genre before, it might seem interesting. perhaps you won't even notice how repetitive it is for 8 or 9 volumes. but in the end, with so much out there that's so much better, why even bother?

Suzuka probably one of my favorites...how did I discovered it, one sunday morning I was scanning through the channels and stumbled on Hero TV. So i watched the first or second episode of it and intrigue buy the drama setting of the anime, so i eagerly waited for the commercial to see what was the title of it and immediate I downloaded the manga, at first the story was kind of lame cause of how Yamato pursues for Asahina, yeah ok so in the end they end up becoming a couple, and next the story was all screwed up. it was all still Yamato being too selfish...but when they broke up that's where the story builds up already...nice...i hope this continues...

Imho its not as bad as some ppl.say it all depends on what you expect from such a manga, it defiantly is not bad.
It has some strong points throughout the manga and some bad ones. On one point it seems the chars are developing and evolving with each other and then they "change" back. Depending on the next few chapters my rating could change, atm I would give it a 7.5/10

A really good story, skips the boring parts and keeps to the plot or developing the characters.

I like read suzuka. Enjoy, heartfull, romantic, sweet..... Yamato isn't stupid or retard..he is very popular...he loves suzuka and suzuka loves him....

Suzuka isn't a bad manga. Through and through it has its good points. Points that make motivated to watch how things progress. But in the end some characters develope and the 2 most important characters don't (IMO). If you're into plot that just reruns itself this is for you. If not I suggest no getting involved.

I have found the reason why I like it so much -- the character development is amazing. I've come to love the characters so much.

I'm actually a Honoka lover, but just looking at the story, I realize that it's that striving for the one you truly love that's important. There are tons of obstacles, but hey! Yamato doesn't give up his love for Suzuka... Hahah... neither does Honoka, no matter who she's with.

Mmm... the artwork is definitely beautiful enough to put this over the top.

The story is nice, and the artwork is nice as well. For a romance manga, its pretty good. The main character is not a loser like in many other harem-romance manga out there, the guys isn't as indecisive as in Ichigo 100%, for example. (well, I think this manga is partially harem even if it doesn't say so in the genre =/). Give it a shot =)

really, i think yamato is an ignorant little fruit. he has all those chances with much more kinder and beautiful girls than suzuka. he was given so many chances..

yamato is a complete idiot.. i really hope the ending is better than its characters build up

Good story and very nice characters, especially i love the art. Seo Kouji has his way with the pen(have read all his works, I think). I have seen some complains about makle character but i don't see how he is a looser....
